New video evidence appears to show the devastating Eaton Fire, which destroyed most of Altadena and parts of northern Pasadena, may have originated with Southern California Edison (SCE) transmission towers in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The Eaton Fire destroyed nearly 9,500 structures, displacing thousands of people, causing an estimated $10 billion in loses while severely damaging the local economy.
Since the fire erupted on January 7, lawsuits have been filed against SCE in an attempt hold the company liable for allegedly failing to shut off the power grid despite heavy winds approaching 100mph. While SCE maintains it followed procedure, residents and eye-witnesses have claimed they saw intense flashes of light near the Eaton Canyon transformer towers before noticing a fire at the base of the towers shortly thereafter.

Clear the brush and undergrowth. California pols need to stop blaming others because the administrators wouldn’t spend the time, money, and effort on prevention.
No reason to sue any entity without a lot of $$.
Perhaps the transmission towers in the beginning of this video?

NAACP lawsuit against electric company.
1. Hire 300 Mexicans...give them 100 goats each, and just send them out to cut through the brush. Make it a federal program, and tell the state/county that no permit or inspection will be required.
2. Hire 5,000 Mexican to be fire-fighters. Base them outside of California, and under Fed-control.
There was also a popular hiking trail I think in that area where a hiker came across a couple of camp fires from the night before, or days before, that had reignited and were smoldering- he reported them- not sure if they burst into flames with the high winds or not though.
Hmmm same story was trotted out in Hawaii. Seems the propaganda machine is flailing around trying to find a scapegoat to take the heat of the CA Govt incompetence
Why are you trying to hire foreigners?
Or are you making some sort of joke?
DEI incompetence is prominent in business today. Deal with the incompetence daily.
Fires start here and there.
By people, institutions or just naturally by lightnings.
Most of them end up causing little harm.
If the firefighters are ready and the area is well managed!
Main problem with this fire was the terrible area mismanagement. Then just any spark can do it.
If the force the utility to pay, the cost will be passed to customers. Maybe that’s good thing, it will be Californians paying the bills, not all of us!
Amen to that.
What the hell is wrong with everyone?? Do you not know how many Millions of Dollars the Sierra Club spent and how many Millions of Dollars the Politicians collected in Bribe money to make sure all of our forestry remains in a Natural Condition untouched by humans??? There is a Multitude of LAWS and CASE LAW as well as SETTLED COURT CASES preventing the destruction of our forests that you are all demanding. All because you don’t want your precious little home to burn up, you are willing to Destroy the Natural Environment we have worked for 50 years to create. You should all be ashamed.
If you were to hire local Californians for either goat-herder or free-range firemen...you’d have to pay $70k starting pay, and have managers being paid $200k. I’d remove Californication from the mess.
I’d also have the Army Corp of Engineers as lead, and basing the free-range firemen out of a cheaper location (like Texas), and fly them in via Nat’l Guard cargo planes.
America for the Americans. Yeah. Hire Americans.
If the lawsuits against power companies are successful, they should all exit the state too. No insurance, no electricity, no water . . . sounds delightful.
Its for the Children!!
Funny how all fires eventually end up with suing the electric company who can get their money back from the customers. Yep, had this pegged.
Yes Trump warned them years ago about conservation.
It’s California logic 3 right turns make a left turn.
Of course they want to blame the power companies - just as they blamed them for the massive Paradise fire in Nor Cal.
Now, when the wind blows, PG&E turns off the power.
As Rick Caruso (who should be mayor and not Bass) stated:
“The brush up in these hills, that are controlled by the city and the county, I would bet you that they haven’t been handled, mitigated, pruned, removed for maybe 30 or 40 years. This is a disaster waiting to happen.”
