Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight
As President Donald Trump selected Mel Gibson to be one of his Special Ambassadors with the purpose of promoting business in Hollywood, the actor explained why he chose to stay in California while several celebrities packed their bags.
"A lot of people have left, and I don't blame them," Gibson said during an appearance on "Hannity."
"It didn't suit them anymore. Even… people who were liberal, it didn't suit them anymore. But if everybody leaves, what's going to happen?"
Gibson’s comments come as Fox News host Sean Hannity shared that he left New York due to "crime… high taxes… burdensome regulations," and has "no intention" of returning. The "Flight Risk" actor agreed that several A-listers fled for the same reasons.
Despite being on the same page as the Fox News host, Gibson vowed to work with the president in what Trump called a "very troubled" Hollywood.
"[People] are going somewhere else because it's more cost-effective. There [are] just a lot of prohibitive regulations and things in the way that I think could be lifted… But I think it can be fixed."
Last week, Trump announced that, along with Gibson, that Jon Voight and Sylvester Stallone would serve as "special envoys" to Hollywood, as people start to raise questions about their role as the industry reckons with a rocky state of affairs.

He has decided to Make Hollywood America Again!!President Trump has appointed Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone, and Jon Voight American Envoys to Hollywood (the American Film Industry).
Many more may join once they realize strength in numbers.
I know they are important in the industry but still, what can actors do against those big studios? Those guys are very powerful.
I mean I HOPE they can do something.
Mel Gibson did a 2 hour interview with Joe Rogan. He talked about a book “ The Frontiersman”. Something tells me he’s gonna make a movie on it. I got halfway through the book. It seemed the main character of the novel kept getting bushwhacked. I fan see where it would make a good movie but not good enough to read the 2nd half of it.
It’s nice to see more of him now that Trump’s in office.
After Hacksaw Ridge he should do a movie on Kamikaze pilots. He does his research.
All of them need to leave.
Who cares what they think and try to force on us with their worthless self assigned statuses. Awards, pats on each other’s backs.
“I had given up on Hollywood and most everyone there, however I am again pleasantly surprised in President Trump” being nicer than me.
Then again, it might be nice if tv and movie making dispersed around the country. I think some movies are made in Georgia. Why not?
Perhaps Trump is following Lincoln: “do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?”
One can hope and pray that he succeeds.
Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight have an initiative to promote the men in our military. They want Hollywood to produce movies that give favorable treatment of our military.
See if you can get ‘em to make good movies that are not XXX rated. Sometimes I like to watch movies with my family, including my grandchildren.
You mention Georgia, however it's nearly everywhere.
Unfortunately American Movie Industry priced itself out of business in Hollywood and is doing the same across all of America.
Bust the disloyal, spoiled Hollywood Union Thugs, and it would come back from the Foreign Countries where "American" movies are filmed now.
Good Point!
My guess is that those who actually left were planning on doing so anyway due to high costs, crime, etc. but needed a “better” excuse and used Trump’s election for that.
To Hollywood Elites, “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Democrat Party?”
I was in a lucid dream/ vision once where I was standing on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The stars on the sidewalk were outlined in gemstones. I think God has surprising plans.
China owns a lot of the studios now. These guys will be fighting an uphill battle but we can always hope for better.
I think it was Gibson who said it’s too expensive to make movies in Hollywood anymore because of regulations.
He said that to film some scenes for his recent movie it was cheaper to fly EVERYONE overseas for a few days than to shoot in Hollywood.
Thank God we have 50 states, which have been described as labs for best practices. People are free to vote with their ballot, dollars and feet! It’s happening! The fly in the ointment is election fraud & cheating, which robs us of true representation. This needs to be addressed.
Mel’s worth half a billion, I think.
Stallone too, I’m pretty sure.
Soros isn’t incredibly more wealthy than them.
Not like Musk is.
Yet people here SHUDDER AND SHAKE when they see Soros’ name.
Combined, these actors have 1/6 his worth.
Should carry some weight.
And they are liked by a LOT more people than that scum soros.
I heard someone break down why Hollywood is the way it is WRT political unanimity.
The issue is that you are replaceable. Almost NO ONE is too big to be dropped from a movie project. So, everyone has to toe the line.
Made sense to me.
