Indian-origin Republican leader Vivek Ramaswamy pulled out of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) due to differences with the Tesla CEO over H-1B visas, a report has suggested.
Hours after Donald Trump's inauguration as the 47th US President, Ramaswamy announced that he would not co-head DOGE. The Tesla CEO who wanted Ramaswamy 'out' of the team over the 39-year-old entrepreneur's remarks on X regarding H-1B visas made in December last year.
Ramaswamy's comments on X during a discussion of H-1B visas were the one 'main reason' for some Republicans getting frustrated with him, a report in Politico said.
"Venerated mediocrity over excellence”
Ramaswamy had criticised American culture, saying that tech companies hire foreign workers because the country that has “venerated mediocrity over excellence.” Ramaswamy argued in the post that American companies prioritise foreign-born engineers over native Americans due to a cultural veneration of mediocrity over excellence.
The now-viral post sparked widespread debate and garnered over 118 million views and 51,000 comments.

No, Vivek is going to be running for governor of Ohio
“ Venerated mediocrity over excellence” is the working definition of DEI
I gave them two weeks before they got divorced. Elon did it in less than one.
A majority of the 500 billion funding AI will go to Indians working in the USA with H-1B Visas. Trump cant turn it off because republicans need funding for their election campaigns. American white males are thrown under the bus.
whatever, I just want to see what DOGE can actually accomplish.
Ramaswamy is smart enough to know that the H1-B workers who have warmed our program are cheaper than their American counterparts. Let’s see how many employers prefer them to Americans when the costs to employ are comparable or possibly higher for H1-B’s because they cost the US more( Welfare, chain migration etc. )
I am in favor of H1-B reform and then H2-B expansion. Let’s brain drain the world. . We have already too much of the Worlds trash. Let’s get something for US.
Perhaps. But count me skeptical whenever the MSM highlights division among Republicans.
The big problem with H1b visas , especially with Indian recipients , is that is an easily scammed channel for chain migration . I see the evidence every day.The H1b holder quickly has great numbers of extended family members joining the primary here , the one who has the good job , and some how they seem to be able to stay . Then each neuce/ nephew , cousin, vrither/ sister that has a baby further anchors with supposed U.S. citizen status for every child born here . In this way , the demographics of one of the most populous regions of the planet are be transferred to the USA . All for the sake of a few individuals technical expertise....
Personally, figured Vivek would be gone quickly, no way Elon was not going to see through that con man quickly.
There is no way to reform H1B... it needs GONE>. its been abused wholesale since its creation and no amount of “reform” will fix it.
30+ years I have watched it be abused wholesale, it is a con and a fraud and always has been.
H1B is to skilled workers, what illegals are to unskilled, period.

They go on and on before telling us what the comment was.
We have enough brains here to do the work. They can work in their own countries. There was a reason we went to the moon and other technological leaps, Americans did the work.
H1b /student visas should be limited to around a 100
That’s OK, DOGE was Elon’s idea and he’ll do better with himself and his team. He’s done it before.
Well Vivek’s post about Americans preferring mediocrity over excellence appears likely to end his political career.
One of the points he made about Americans’ celebration of student athletes over honor students is actually quite backward.
Student athletes are more likely to be good students than those who merely attend school.
The “dumb jock” stereotype is not really accurate. The “dumb jock” is the exception, not the rule.
BULLCRAP
Shirtless guy on a torn couch to his wife in her chenille bathrobe, with pork rind in his mouth between gulps of beer:
Lula Mae, that little guy on the news is talkin' against us.
Wife: Sure looks that way. He's toast.
I was on our swim team in high school. My senior year it was found that our team had the highest cumulative GPA of any other athletic team and furthermore our school had the highest SAT scores in the entire state.
Every one on our team felt pretty accomplished about that :-)
One of my good friends was quarterback of our football team.
He went to college at Notre Dame (but was not on the team there).
You can’t be a dunce and make it through Notre Dame.
