“ I bet a lot of them quit or retire.”

In effect, some of them are “retired” but pulling full pay and benefits. Now they can put in for actual retirement… at a reduced retirement amount,

I know a lot of folks will be very pissed off. If done correctly, AND IF FOLKS WERE MORE HONEST, teleworking is not a bad thing. However, many folks were supposed to be teleworking were instead doing everything but their work. I could tell you some stories.........

That said, I'm glad to see Trump lower the boom.

Several moved away from DC years ago. This alone will result in many of them quitting.

Also a way to facilitate attrition.

Hopefully. OTOH, how many of them have marketable skills that will translate to private industry?

What he should have done was continuous shift monitoring forcing them to check in by computer every 6 minutes with proof they are working. Now they can come back in and go back to sleep in their cubicle.

You are NOT understanding the reason behind this, Trump is realizing MANY of them will quit we have government buildings that are EMPTY we are paying mortgages on them ON OUR DIME!!! How in the hell are the people served by people at home do you honestly believe that people being at home supposedly WORKING does NOT CREATE an incompetent workforce for the people!!!

Nine. Your typical federal worker has a skill set as a DMV employee.
