Report: Joe Biden ‘Mused’ About Pardoning Donald Trump
Breitbart ^ | 01/17/2025 | Wendell Husebo

Posted on 01/17/2025 6:47:14 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

President Joe Biden thought about pardoning President-elect Donald Trump, though it’s not known how seriously, a person directly familiar with his comments told NBC News’s Natasha Korecki, Carol E. Lee, and Jonathan Allen.

Trump was the victim of the weaponization of justice under Biden’s Justice Department. Biden reportedly ordered the DOJ to prosecute Trump and lamented appointing Attorney General Merrick Garland because he did not act quickly enough to prosecute Trump.

NBC News reported on Biden’s thoughts about pardoning Trump and the president’s frustration with the Democrat party:

Many Democrats are blaming Biden for handing the White House to Donald Trump, criticizing the aging politician for staying in office too long and reeling after he pardoned his son. Exacerbating the frustrations, Biden recently expressed doubt about his ability to serve another four years after dismissing voters’ concerns about that very issue as he sought re-election.

The president harbors similar resentment toward members of his own party. After the November election, he privately mused about the idea of pardoning Trump as a magnanimous move, according to a person directly familiar with his comments, though it’s not clear he seriously considered it. A White House official said “to our knowledge, this was not raised.” At the same time, Biden is not on speaking terms with some of his closest allies.

If this were to happen, Trump should and probably would refuse to accept a pardon.

Joe Biden’s “musing days” are well passed him. Joe Biden’s staff did all the musing for him.

Technically you cannot refuse. The pardon can be granted, you can ask not to be that is about all.

--- "...a person directly familiar..." is my favorite source.

Far more trustworthy than "experts say" and "science affirms" and "according to anonymous sources" or those who testify "on the condition of anonymity."

One may fully, completely and abjectly believe "...a person directly familiar...."

If I were advising Biden, I’d strongly advise him to even things out. Order the arrest of Nancy Pelosi for being drunk and disorderly while on federal property.

Sure, that would upset many Democrats. But it would please Jill Biden. And remember Joe, “Happy wife, happy life.”

Biden knows Hunter and the whole Biden family is likely to be in constant legal problems. He wants Trump to babysit the Biden crime family. I doubt Trump will take that bribe.

“Exacerbating the frustrations, Biden recently expressed doubt about his ability to serve another four years...”

Is anyone else struggling to find the logic or continuity the author presumably was trying to convey/sustain with this bit of prose?

Its brilliant from the leftist perspective. If pardoned, Trump will have to drop all his appeals and will forever be tagged as a pardoned felon.

No, no. Biden should “pardon Pelosi” (for bribery, money laundering, inside trading, and corruption).

Then walk away Monday morning. 60 hours left.

"...Biden recently expressed doubt about his ability to serve another four years...”

Since Trump won three times, 2016 and 2020 and 2024, 2024 thru 2028 would constitute a third term. Of course, this would be an admission that joey cheated Trump out of his second term.

Nonetheless, Trump knows... and Joey knows, 46 was Trump's "Pause". The Dash matters.

Thanks C.

But:

“Exacerbating the frustrations, Biden recently expressed doubt about his ability to serve another four years after dismissing voters’ concerns about that very issue as he sought re-election.”

Does the “his” pronoun not refer to Biden himself here (not PDJT)?

Maybe Biden will spend the rest of his natural life waking up every morning and thinking to himself, “I don’t know if I’m up to serving another four years.”

I believe this comes up often, and that many things are pre-scripted and carefully thought-through.

Given ambiguity, I'm inclined to think it is choreographed to be so, so that the readers interpret as they see fit. People can see their "truth" in both versions.

Well, that utterly destroys the primary purpose of the written word!
