The Young Turks’ Ana Kasparian shredded California Democrats over their handling of the wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area this week, declaring that if “you want to radicalize people against the modern Democratic Party” you should “send them to LA.”
Responding to a tweet from a progressive nonprofit blaming the water shortage in the Golden State on a “billionaire couple,” Kasparian wrote that “CA, and especially LA, is controlled by Democrats. THEY are responsible. No more passing the buck.”
“Our Mayor, who was in Ghana as fires exploded in our city, cut the fire budget by $17 million. Endless amounts of money funneled to bullshit scammer homeless nonprofits. We’re the highest taxed yet we have encampments and squalor everywhere. Even worse, we don’t have enough firefighters to respond to the absolute disaster we’re experiencing right now. Rather than conserve the record rain we got last year, we just drained it into the ocean,” she continued. “We are a failing city run by a sick excuse for local government. You want to radicalize people against the modern Democratic Party? Send them to LA.”

California is mostly a desert. We have 840 miles of coastline but won’t give permits to build desalination plants. We tore down two dams last year to reintroduce species of fish to the river that haven’t lived there for over 100 years. Trump ordered construction of a water pipeline and the state sued to stop it. Los Angeles built a new reservoir, but shut down the old one so no net water saving gains.
These Dem politicians are focused on everything other than doing what is right and necessary for human survival. All it takes is for good people to do nothing - or for incompetent people to keep getting elected to higher and higher office. Term limits doesn’t help because nobody has any incentive to do good. 2 terms they are out and it’s someone else’s problem. That’s why bureaucrats run the state and politicians only virtue signal. To them, pronouns and menthol cigarettes are more important than water. The speed train from Bakersfield to Barstow... you know what the people in Bakersfield and Barstow need more than a train? WATER!
