Comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla has predicted that the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires will lead wealthy California elites to abandon the Democrat party, or at least persuade them to vote somewhat less blue, because of the onerous amounts of state regulation they will face when they attempt to rebuild.
In his most recent podcast episode, Adam Carolla argued that California’s permit process for rebuilding is so needlessly daunting and drawn-out that true-blue voters will turn on Democrats out of sheer frustration.
“So here’s what’s going to happen. All these people who are deep blue Democrats are now going to have to pull a permit to rebuild, and they’re going to get the 28-year-old *&*& from the Coastal Commission telling them to go *&*& off and then they’re going to vote for Trump or whoever’s Trumpian next,” Carolla said.

"Dooooon't you believe it!"
Rich Democrats wanted those regulations to keep people out of their neighborhoods.
Newsome will lift the regulations for them, count on it.
States to the east and north of CA, get ready for new waves of Californians coming.
No joke.. .
Not the fires….but the travails they are going to experience from wokist local bureaucrats when they try to get permits to rebuild.
I wish I could believe it. Leftists are really stupid, though.
Latest: Fires started by skateboarder who knocked over Mrs. O’Leora’s tiki torch.

I don’t necessarily disagree with that but how many can afford to rebuild......and don’t tell me insurance, I bet thousands weren’t carrying any.
They are evil and insane. True Californians will never change. They destroyed Colorado and now they are moving to Florida.
Ignorance can be rectified, stupidity cannot. Most dims are stupid.
I admire Adam’s prediction, but it ain’t gonna happen. There may be 1 or 2, but wholesale conversion is not gonna happen unless God step’s in and opens their eyes!..................
Adam
Yer a smart guy but, they wont...
They aren’t rebuilding. They won’t be able to get the insurance to rebuild. Nothing has changed.
Will it?
Deep Blue Dem voters are pretty stupid and like being s#%t on.
No, they won’t. California Democrats are ass deep in the woke Kool-Aid. To vote for Democrats would be admitting that they are wrong, have been wrong, and have voted for the losers that permitted this.
Their social and work circles are hard left, with limited ability to process thoughts from another universe. It will take more events on this scale to shake them loose.
Some will change but most of those leftards will not.
To your point—even if they are insured that does not help them replace their home if the enviro-wacko regulations are invoked by regulators.
They could be waiting years to rebuild.
In addition, home insurance covers a fixed dollar amount. If the regulatory requirements cause the replacement cost to be well above that amount they might have to radically downsize to replace.
I don’t think so.
California has survived, and even thrived in places, due to creativity of tech job creation, cheap money and equity investments, and its base in agriculture, hollywood, entertainment, etc...
The leftist parasites are indeed a huge burden, but the host has still managed to stay alive and create jobs and wealth among the urban elites.
When the host is eventually overcome by the parasites, especially in a future market-crash and serious recession, only THEN will the process of replacing CA’s long-term, one-party government start.
“Ignorance can be rectified, stupidity cannot. Most dims are stupid.”
As well as brainwashed to the bone with Marxist ideology.
