President-elect Donald Trump requested a delay on Monday of Friday's sentencing in his hush money case while they appeal the previous ruling that upheld the guilty verdict.
Trump’s legal team is asking the state appeals court to reverse Judge Juan M. Merchan’s decision to proceed with the sentencing on Friday.
Merchan has rejected Trump's attempt to dismiss the verdict and the indictment based on presidential immunity grounds.
Merchan said he doesn't intend to sentence to Trump to jail time.
Merchan's little side show needs to be stopped. (On a side note, he needs to be removed from the bench and prosecuted for corruption).
BTTT
Why not?
It’s lawfare ain’t it.
Besides Trump got deeper pockets than ever after winning the election.
The NY state appeals court has NOT been helpful to Trump.
Merchant needs to be sent back to Bogata Columbia where his third world approach to the legal system will fit right in.
If I were Trump an extensive search of the background would turn up some excuse to deport him.
his recommended sentencing screams political persecution
why go through this exercise and then recommend no punishment?
just so the left can call Trump a convicted felon

The judges in NYC and state act like rape case judges in Britain.
Shouldn’t be a surprise when you consider that NYC stayed fanatically loyalist during our Revolution and even for a time after the revolution was won.
I believe that all of these ridiculous lawfare cases against Trump will be dismissed eventually, it’s just a matter of how far up the ladder they have to go.

I agree. But it is a travesty that it takes so long for justice to prevail. In so many cases, and this one is a classic example, justice delayed is indeed justice denied. Just because the Democrats and court’s lawfare hasn’t worked out as planned, doesn’t mean they should get away with it.
Below is a longer article on the Trump attorneys’ filing. Notice it took four NBC “reporters” to write the article. And of course they have to call it the “hush money” case.
