An article featuring statements from Ukrainian soldiers about American Abrams tanks was published on Business Insider. Although the war with Russia has shown that they are not invincible, their capabilities and equipment have been rated much better than Soviet-era and even newer Russian tanks.
"It's better than T-72, T-62, and even Russian T-90," said a Ukrainian Abrams tank commander quoted by Business Insider.
The Ukrainians pointed out that the Soviet-era T-series tanks are smaller and lighter than Abrams tanks. As a result, they are somewhat harder targets, but on the other hand, they have weaker armour and do not provide the crew with as high a level of protection as the American machines. Additionally, the latter are equipped with powerful engines (1,500 horsepower), which provide good mobility in the field and the ability to reach maximum speeds on roads of up to 70 km/h.
As part of support from the United States, Ukraine received 31 Abrams tanks in the M1A1 variant. According to data provided by the authors of the Oryx blog, whose goal is to document the equipment losses sustained by the parties fighting in Ukraine, Russians have already eliminated 17 such American tanks. Some of them have been destroyed and damaged, and a few units have been captured and taken to Russia.
"It's an infinitely superior system. The A1 may be old in the sense that it's been in our inventory for quite some time, but it's far superior to anything that the Russians have," military expert Robert Greenway told Business Insider.

And the Tiger outshone the T-34 in most cases. Ukraine cannot win with tanks.
Tanks only work in specific situations. We need to find a way to end that conflict.

Our old tanks are better than their old tanks. So now we know we would have won the hot version of the Cold War. And I really dislike Business Insider.
Can’t wait for the new zero emissions tank. Will be great to fight wars without contributing to global warming.
Remember at the beginning of the war...the pics of Ukrainians practicing with cardboard guns. Because they are only allowed weapons for hunting.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Ukraine has sidelined U.S.-provided Abrams M1A1 battle tanks for now in its fight against Russia, in part because Russian drone warfare has made it too difficult for them to operate without detection or coming under attack, two U.S. military officials told The Associated Press.

America’s Abrams tanks are failing on the battlefield in Ukraine as Russia has labelled them “empty tin cans”.
The US donated 31 Abrams to Ukraine last year in a move heralded as a potential game changer for Kyiv in its fight against Russia.
Ukraine had been complaining that its old soviet-era tanks were getting stuck in mud, not firing and constantly breaking down. But the superior US models appear to be faring little better in practice.
Speaking to CNN, Ukrainian crews working on the tanks say the Abram M1s are not as robust as touted. “Its armour is not sufficient for this moment,” said one crew member with the callsign Joker.
“It doesn’t protect the crew. For real, today this is the war of drones. So now, when the tank rolls out, they always try to hit them.”
I just read...2% of the population of Ukraine own guns.

. Over 20 of the 31 Abrams tanks delivered to Ukraine are now thought to have been destroyed, disabled or captured, with most kills captured on film being achieved by guided artillery or by single use ‘kamikaze’ drones, while one was confirmed to have been achieved by a Russian T-72B3 tank after the two exchanged fire.
As Military Watch Magazine has assessed, since September, “the rate at which Ukrainian forces have been losing Abrams tanks has increased significantly.”
And it isn’t just the Abrams MBT that has struggled in the muddy, blood-soaked killing fields of Ukraine. Most of the other classes of NATO MBTs have either been destroyed or rendered useless in Ukraine’s fight against the invading Russians. Even the much-ballyhooed German-built Leopard 2A6 MBTs have not fared as their proponents in NATO claimed they would.
Ukraine has received very few modern tanks. 31 Abrams, 14 Challengers and @200 Leopards overall, plus @1000 mainly T72 variants mainly from Poland, plus @200 odds and sods. The Russians seem to have deployed @4000+ replacement tanks after losing nearly all their @ 2000 active duty tanks since 2/2022.
There’s been three years of attritional warfare. Losses should be expected. It is affecting both Ukraine and Russia. The vast majority of Russian replacement tanks at this point seem to be T62’s, not T72’s or T80’s.
The US COULD (and still could) have delivered 1000+ M1A1’s as much more than these are in US reserve stocks. That would certainly make a big difference. The only limit would be Ukrainian logistical abilities.

What could your country deliver to The elensky?
Gen Guderian didn’t think so. The German Panther was far superior to Tigers, but doesn’t get the credit.
“We need to find a way to end that conflict.”
All we need to find is a way for us to stay out, and stop funding it. But I don’t care if it stops. Not an American problem.
How are those Ukie F16’s doing?
The problem is not with the M1 tank. That thing is still a world beater. But it needs to be in the hands of the 1st Armored Division and it’s supporting elements, not in the hands of a bunch of nazi retards, being fed into battle in ones and twos by higher ranking retards.
