CNN’s Jennings: GOP Needs to Stop Fighting Amongst Themselves
Breitbart ^ | 01/03/2025 | Pam Key

Posted on 01/03/2025 11:39:02 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings said Friday during the network’s special coverage of the House Speaker vote that Republicans need to stop fighting “amongst themselves.”

Jennings said, “You know what strikes me about all this machination? This is all a bridge to nowhere. I mean, all these people voting no, voting present. What is — to what end is the Republican party doing this?”

He continued, “And I think this is probably what Donald Trump’s frustration is and why he’s putting so much time and effort into getting Johnson elected here. There’s no alternative, you know, these no votes, present votes. There’s no alternative. Johnson is the only one who can do this today. And the sooner he does it, the better off Trump will be and the better off the Republican Party will be. The Republican voters of this country elected Trump and these people to do things, not fight amongst themselves.

That’s not going to happen.

Those fighting against MAGA aren’t going to change their tune until they are voted out!

I get that some members don’t want to vote for Johnson, but if a member votes no, they have a duty to present a viable alternative (emphasis on the word viable). Declaring loudly that you are voting no to burnish your purity credentials is not a positive.

>>The Republican voters of this country elected Trump and these people to do things, not fight amongst themselves.

And when Johnson betrays the GOP and follows a Democrat agenda will that be what the voters wanted?
“doing things” is less important then “doing the right thing”.

Why not? They’re too big of pussies to fight against anyone else, especially people who fight back themselves. It’s a horrible party, and has been for decades.

Then maybe the leadership should start doing more conservative things that are in line with the base that elected them.

When the leadership acts like deepstate, big government, Democrat lite....there SHOULD be a fight within the party.

Stop fighting.

Y'all should just agree with me, my ideas of what's good and right, and all the arguing will be over.

Come on y'all.

Do it for Amurrica.

do I really need to put a sarc tag on this?

The real problem is so many Republicans are “RINOs”.
Concepts like personal freedoms, the Constitution means exactly as is written, and Government is not your friend, are foreign to them.
Democrats resemble the North Korean military parades all in perfect lock goose stepping.
Real Republicans are like trying to herd kittens.
RINOs urinate on the kittens while admiring the Goose stepping ranks.
Just my opinion.

duty to present a viable alternative (emphasis on the word viable)

I hope you can see how this is such a defeatist way of framing it.

You are basically saying, "They must present an option that is suitable to the deepstate globalist RINOs in the party. Otherwise they are destroying the party."

Why can't they pick a hard core America first conservative? In that scenario, why aren't the RINOs who don't support Jordon or Donalds or Roy the ones who aren't being realistic?

It is your loser mentality that puts us in this position every single time.

When you start with the position...."If conservatives don't moderate their position then THEY are the ones to blame when things go sideways." ....Guess what is going to happen EVERY.SINGLE.TIME?

We do.

But that’s part of being a big tent of people who value freedom and independence.

The democrats are top down authoritarians. Their political machine is as efficient just as their governance is horrid, just like communism or any totalitarian group.

I often think lately the 2 parties have reversed their historical past.

Recall Will Rodgers once said “I don’t belong to a organized party. I’m a Democrat “

If the fighting is about stopping GOP reps from cooperating with the Democrats, I'd say that's a fight to have.

Getting along to avoid fights can have some serious negative consequences. Just look at the bill Johnson put up just before Christmas. The only way to stop those shenanigans is to call them out.

There is no way a MAGA representative will be elected Speaker of the House in 2025.

A lot of folks won’t want to hear that, but clear-eyed evaluation is imperative to determine what can and can’t be done via legislation.

The present makeup of the House does not want a MAGA speaker. Representative Johnson is the best choice available at this time.

Don’t like it? Then elect more MAGA candidates.

What needs to happen is those who oppose Johnson need to protest by voting 100% with the democrats for the next two years and if the democrats win back the senate blame it on Johnson.

At least that’s what I heard one anti-Johnson republican suggest on the radio this afternoon.

Somebody here once said, about 40 to 50 Republicans in the House are solid conservatives, and the rest are RINO Republicans.

Which means a solid majority are not strong conservatives.

Maneuvering in such a political environment, with such narrow majorities, will be tough these next two years.

But we pay these congressman and women to do the tough work for the American people.

There is no way a MAGA representative will be elected Speaker of the House in 2025

The only reason for this is because the globalist RINOs know they can oppose a MAGA nominee and people like you will say..."That's fair. They are just voting their conscience." While condemning any conservative who doesn't vote for a globalist RINO.

People like you (and the mainstream GOP, and the legacy media) give them cover to keep everything running this way.
