North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D) commuted death sentences for 15 inmates on his last day in office.
On Tuesday Cooper announced that he has commuted the sentences of 15 people on death row in North Carolina to life without the possibility of parole after a thorough review of detailed petitions for clemency.
“These reviews are among the most difficult decisions a Governor can make and the death penalty is the most severe sentence that the state can impose,” said Governor Cooper. “After thorough review, reflection, and prayer, I concluded that the death sentence imposed on these 15 people should be commuted, while ensuring they will spend the rest of their lives in prison.”

This is nothing but an “eff-you” to the people of North Carolina for voting for Trump. Just like Cooper’s role model Biden did at the federal level.
Did he speak with the victim’s family first?
Democrats don’t care.
Some of those commuted are going to go after the families of the victims, because they are still angry about it.
Are the Demi’s not wanting to ever win another election. I know they are on life support, but this is a dumb decision to follow old joe. Showing people they are so self centered and petty, that they are offering middle finger as they are outed from office.
And yes, very crappy to do over holidays to the families. Guess they double handed the mid-finger.

Commuted does not mean they are set free. They will spend life in prison now at taxpayer expense.
Knowing the Democrats, this will be the first step to parole.
Someday, one of the family members of the victims is going to be pushed too far and that will be a bad bad day for the person who pardoned these killers.
Republicans should use these pardons and commutations in advertisements against Democrats. They expose the Democrat’s weakness of being soft on crime.
