Sharia in the Kremlin: Polygamy and the Rise of Islamic Law in Putin’s Russia
RAIR Foundation USA ^

Vladimir Putin’s embrace of Islam reflects a broader ‘Red-Green Axis’—a dangerous alliance between authoritarian regimes and Islamic movements.

Russia’s descent into deeper Islamization under Vladimir Putin’s leadership signals a dangerous convergence of authoritarianism and religious extremism, forming a “Red-Green Axis” that imperils the nation’s cultural integrity and security. This troubling alliance between Putin’s regime and Islamic authorities, exemplified by a decree from Russia’s highest Islamic council allowing religious polygamy, should alarm anyone concerned with the preservation of secular governance and national stability.

Polygamy by Stealth: Eroding Russian Law Despite Russia’s legal prohibition of polygamy, Grand Mufti Ildar Alyautdinov’s recent decree permits men to marry multiple wives under religious pretexts, such as infertility or “sexual incompatibility.” While this ruling holds no legal authority, its potential societal impact in Muslim-majority regions like Chechnya and Dagestan cannot be ignored. The issue is further compounded by canonical Islamic texts like Reliance of the Traveller, which instruct Muslims to adhere to Sharia law even when living outside Islamic nations.

By tolerating such decrees, Putin tacitly endorses a parallel legal system that undermines Russian secular law in favor of Sharia principles.

Lets not forget, Putin inaugurated Europe's largest Mosque - right in the center of Moscow. Russia has also allied itself with the planet's most extreme Islamic nation of them all : IRAN. 12 - 15% of Russia's population is Muslim, that's a higher percentage than any of the EU countries.

Don’t think that’s going to end well. Hasn’t for other non-Islamic countries.

Things are fine, take a pill, and relax. No one is asking you to move to Russia, nor are they asking you to send Putin 300 BILLION DOLLARS with no audit trail to fight a war, just to see him lose, anyway.

So much for Putin’s portrayal as the great defender of Christianity by the kooks who pollute this forum. He’s as bad as Hitler, who likewise embraced the lunatic Islamists of their time. Didn’t work out for him, either.

If Putin is a brutal dictator and his enemies say he is then Islamists or anyone else that gets in his way will be crushed right?

Putin doesn't give a flip about Islam, any more than he cared about Russian Orthodox Christianity years ago.

He mouths the words to manipulate the masses, but I doubt he actually believes in either one.

But if it'll get you to pay your taxes or go and fight in the Ukraine, he'll tell you what you want to hear.

France has no-go zones because of Muslim immigration and you're worried about what is going on in Russia?

You obviously hate Russia more than care about France.

The picture you posted is from the “Magazine Paris Match” year 2011... Old stuff!

All that praying in a couple of streets in Paris was a short-lived thing. It ended more than a decade ago!

Here is Paris Match’s article related to the photo.

Translated to English:
“The austere building, located a few hundred meters from the Parisian ring road, could help alleviate the phenomenon of street prayers while awaiting a more sustainable solution. It is somewhat distant from the Goutte d’Or neighborhood, where the prayers take place. However, the completion of the future Institute of Islamic Cultures (ICI), which is to be established precisely in this area, should provide Muslims with a decent place to pray. According to Le Parisien, the ICI will include two prayer rooms, each measuring 1,000 square meters.

“We visited several gymnasiums with the services of the Paris Police Prefecture (PP), and it quickly became clear that none of them could be used for this purpose. That’s how we came to discuss this unused barracks, which the city has been trying to purchase from the state for some time,” said a source close to the mayor of the 18th arrondissement.

The mayor of the 18th arrondissement, however, remains firm. In the daily newspaper, Daniel Vaillant reiterated that “as soon as the ICI is open, it is obvious that no one should be praying outside anymore.” The issue is politically sensitive, especially since Marine Le Pen openly criticized it in December 2010. At that time, she stated, among other things, that “those who practice prayers in public spaces behave like occupiers.” The debate then raged between those who saw street prayers as a troubling symbol and those who viewed them as a sign that Muslims lack sufficient places of worship.

The hangar at the barracks on Avenue de la Porte des Poissonniers should be made available to worshippers after the end of Ramadan. As for the ICI, it is not expected to open until late 2012. Muslims in the 18th arrondissement will therefore have to wait a little longer.”

If Putin isn't an Orthodox Christian that cares about the Orthodox Church, why has the Russian government spent billions building Orthodox churches in recent years?

Those with Russian Derangement Syndrome constantly spew nonsense.

All true. As any honest observer who has ever actually been to Russia knows its cities are full of Muslims. Here is a hilarious article from a couple weeks ago:

https://timesca.com/russian-mp-blames-central-asians-for-ruble-depreciation/

Russian MP Blames Central Asians for Ruble Depreciation

Mikhail Matveyev, a member of Russia’s State Duma, has attributed the depreciation of the Russian ruble in part to remittances by labor migrants from Central Asia and the Caucasus.

In a statement on his Telegram channel, Matveyev argued that millions of migrants working in Russia transfer their earnings abroad, removing significant sums from the Russian economy. According to him, these remittances fuel demand for foreign currencies, such as the dollar, thereby weakening the ruble.

Citing statistics, Matveyev claimed that in 2023, labor migrants sent $5.7 billion from Russia to Tajikistan – nearly half of Tajikistan’s GDP. Kyrgyzstan received remittances equal to about one-third of its GDP, while Uzbekistan received over $14.5 billion, accounting for 12-15% of its GDP. Other significant recipients included Georgia (over $2 billion), Armenia (over $3 billion), and Kazakhstan.

Matveyev also criticized some of these countries for their stance on Western sanctions against Russia. He noted that several countries in the Eurasia region have joined sanctions targeting Russian banks and refuse to process transactions using the Russian Mir payment system. This, he said, forces migrants to withdraw cash dollars from Russia to transfer home, exacerbating the pressure on the ruble exchange rate.

The MP’s remarks came amid a sharp drop in the ruble’s value against the dollar last week.

For more than 30 years, millions of Central Asian citizens have migrated to Russia for work. However, recent trends indicate an increase in return migration, driven by Russia’s deteriorating economic conditions, stricter immigration rules, worsening attitudes toward Central Asian workers, and attempts by Russian authorities to recruit immigrants – both with and without Russian citizenship – for military service in Ukraine.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a high-profile ceremony in Moscow to mark the opening of what he described as Europe’s largest mosque, a soaring and stunning piece of religious architecture.

The building replaces a mosque built in 1904 and will seat 10,000 adherents in a city that is estimated to have some 2 million Muslims, though no official data is published.”

Interesting article, thanks for sharing.

Indeed, Russia’s economy is on artificial life-support.
The Russian deep-state is gutting Russia’s wealth-fund and the social security to crazy levels, trying to save the Ruble, and finance the war... But this is fulile...
32% of Russia’s national budget is now financing Russian Military Industrial Complex (MIC).

The Kremlin is destroying Russia and Ukraine.

Bigger problems exist right here in our homeland. We have been invaded by 12-20 million low skilled immigrants, sucking at the welfare trough, paid for by American tax payers. And our national debt is much bigger than our GDP. Interest on national debt is now more than Trillion $$$ every year, bigger than military annual budget.

And you worry about Russia?
