Support for Backing Ukraine at All Costs Falls in Europe Amid Realisation Trump Will Make Them Pay the Bill
Breitbart ^ | 27 Dec 2024 | Kurt Zindulka

A cross country survey in Europe has found that support for a forever war in Ukraine is falling, perhaps not coincidentally given President-Elect Donald Trump telegraphing he expects Europeans to pay a greater share of the bill for their own defence.

Total Ukrainian victory at any cost feeling appears to be waning in Europe, with a YouGov survey this month finding that support for Kyiv “until it wins” against Moscow has steeply declined throughout western Europe, the Guardian reports.

Amid growing realisation that they may soon be on the hook to foot the bill, support for standing by Ukraine until victory, including by extending the war, fell in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Sweden.

Meanwhile, the polling agency found that support for a peace settlement, including one in which Russia is granted previous Ukrainian territory — seen as totally unacceptable in Kyiv — rose in every country surveyed.

For example, support for a negotiated peace rose from 45 per cent to 55 per cent in Italy, from 38 per cent to 46 in Spain, 35 per cent to 43 in France, and 38 per cent to 45 per cent in Germany.

While support for a to-the-bitter-end war remained relatively high in Sweden at 50 per cent, Denmark at 40 per cent, and the UK at 36 per cent, support had declined significantly from 57, 51, and 50 per cent, respectively.

It looks like scamming the US taxpayers for this losing war is about to end—not one day too soon.

Trump also needs to explicitly state that if the war widens and NATO gets pulled in it will be European troops that will be fighting a European war. Americans are not gonna wanna fight and there will be massive political ramifications if they try to get Americans to fight and die for their scam of a war.

They were willing to “fight” until the last American dollar and Ukrainian life.

Yeh, its all fun and games until the cash cow walks away. The EU is going to pay big time for supporting that war.

Trump is a leader...not a dictator. Congress needs to step to the plate.

Euro Russia Hoax has run its course?

Bad news for Bolton and his comrades, they become irrelevant on two continents.

Better to save their money and let Russia take them over, because Russia would never make them spend their money.

--- "Yeh, its all fun and games until the cash cow walks away. The EU is going to pay big time for supporting that war."

That is the point, plain and simple. So many say, "I'll hold your coat while you and he fight." In like manner say, "I'll keep my own money, while you spend yours for what I want."

Interestingly, in the Guardian summary of the YouGov poll, one finds "Most Europeans feel Ukraine is not getting enough western support," and "However only a minority think their country should increase support."

Source: Support for Ukraine ‘until it wins’ falls sharply in western Europe, poll finds

No different than here. Someone should pay; just not me. In almost every darn situation from municipal transit projects and other local infrastructure projects wanting federal money, to abortions, to public education and universities, to "research" in so many areas wherein those grants from government are often "someone else's money" for what I want. "Gimme" is a big, worldwide game.

Not necessary. Trump said he would end the war on his first day as president.

Much written about all the money wasted. Fact is the $300 billion since 2022 is dwarfed by the amount we spent on Ukraine since 2014, when we overthrew the government and then built up their army for war with Russia, as admitted by Merkel and others.

Everything about Ukraine in 2014 stunk, and now it has gotten stinkier. The only good news? The US Project Ukraine is dead. We now need to drive a stake through it’s heart, never to return.

An actual quote:

"I will get it settled before I even become president. When I win, when I'm president-elect, and what I'll do is I'll speak to one, I'll speak to the other, I'll get them together. That war would've never happened,” Trump said, implying he could get Ukraine to enter an uneasy truce with Russia.

Source: What Trump has promised to do on day one in the White House Washington Examiner, 6 November 2024.

Looks like telling the UK and EU that they'll be paying a lot more has gotten that ball rolling.

You and your fellow Zeepers have 1) Claimed Russia can't even defeat Ukraine despite its "full-scale invasion" and 2) Have suffered mass causalities that have crippled its army.

So, how could Russia possibly have the ability to takeover Europe?

It is surprising that all the Putin admirers don’t move to China where life is so much better.

Trump pointed out in his first term that Xi, takes very good care of his people.

The average Chinese person generally lives better than the average Russian, with higher median wealth, better access to healthcare and technology, and a higher overall quality of life.

China has a higher GDP per capita and median wealth compared to Russia.
China has experienced rapid economic growth, significantly improving the lives of its citizens over the past few decades.
Most Chinese have indoor flush plumbing, and Russians only have it in large cities.

If you are going commie the Chinese have it much better.

“Yeh, its all fun and games until the cash cow walks away. The EU is going to pay big time for supporting that war.”

I was just thinking the same. Besides going broke to keep their basket-case Ukrainian Government in power, what will REALLY hurt is when it’s payback time for all of the Neocon Terrorism directed at Russia (with the latest being that drone attack on Grozy timed exactly as the jet was coming in to land, thus causing it to crash).

I don’t think anybody here loves Putin or thinks he is a great guy.

That said—most here don’t want to spend another trillion dollars to get rid of him.

If we must spend another trillion dollars let us deport all the illegal aliens and stop our government and Big Tech from snooping on us and censoring us.

One of the most ANNOYING things on this site are the Zeepers who keep throwing out the same garbage, even when they have been told MULTIPLE TIMES, that they are lying.

For example, the World Bank considers Russia a HIGH INCOME country - yet we’re forced to put up with the repeats of 40 year-old tropes about the country:

TRUMP GET US OUT OF NATO NOW
