Democrats have ‘no one’ to lead opposition to Trump going into 2025: Byron York
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/26/24 | Asher Notheis

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York argued the Democratic Party has a serious dilemma facing it going into 2025, specifically how it does not have anyone of the same caliber as Donald Trump to oppose the incoming president’s agenda.

Following Trump’s victory against Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, the Democratic Party has yet to find a new person to emerge as the new voice and face of its movement. York, the chief political correspondent for the Washington Examiner, assessed that this situation stems from how Democrats lost the White House and the Senate last month while also failing to retake the House of Representatives.

Yeah, half say Kamala, half say other.

Kamala is never going to be in the state to lead, and the hard left hates the establishment, who has the money, while the establishment hates the hard left, who have the enthusiasm.

If the Dems don’t win back one part of Congress in 2026, it’s probably going to split and it would do good if the GOP started secretly pushing for it to happen.

Because Biden was not actually in charge either, he was a figurehead for a large collection of “staffers” each of whom was trying to shift the policy toward their interests.

Byron, that is not Trump’s fault

You RINOs and your buddy (coconspirators) Democrats had every opportunity to come up with some opposition. Now after decades of grooming puppet politicians, nasty illogical loyalist media personalities and brainwashed lemming voters who ultimately November 2024 when they were collectively occupied and valued only with hatred of Trump

Now there is no direction for them. They are dispurposed. Trump is not a topic of discussion nor interest any longer.

You all alare out of business.

While you were all busy outsmarting Trump, talented pro America politicians prepared to work for the U.S. joining Trump. News commenters wised up jumping into podcasts, gaining audience

The media- TV news, the papers of record, tv entertainment, Hollywood- raisined itself collecting subsidies but no audience. It has no more of a voice than a tree falling in the woods.

you have run yourselves completely out of anyone to fill those positions, completely run out of issues to discuss. There is no more discussion. See Money ball when Brad Pitt tells the old guys ‘this is not a discussion’

There are no politicians with any logic or talent, none with any backing, no media personalities to fake it any longer, none to oppose the U.S.A

That’s the fault of the democrats, Byron.

They were told very kindly that they were wrong. They screamed back in a tantrum. Now the tantrum is over. They are exhausted like a three year old after his mother stood by quietly in the tv room allowing the kid to scream, kick and spin. Now napping. Hard.

Nothing left

**Yeah, half say Kamala, half say other.**

Send her money.
Makes me wonder. What if all of us sent a small $10 contribution to the whacko leftists out there? No one would know where it’s coming from. I would have sent it to Bernie in ‘16. He wouldn’t have beaten Hillary but he sure would have disturbed the excrement amongst the democrats. We’re not smart enough to do that.

Wouldn't have made the difference in '16. The fix was in for Hillary.

If Josh Shapiro - center left Democrat Governor of Pennsylvania - wants the job, he can probably step up and take it.

If Kamala had chosen Shapiro for Vice President, and if Kamala had made a highly focused effort to capture Green Party and RFK votes in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, she might have won all three states, plus 270 Electoral Votes, and the White House.

Shapiro's only Left Side weakness is that he is soft on, and frequently supportive of, Israel, which might have lost the essential Muslim vote in metro Detroit.

Shapiro would have made it as the frontrunner in 2000. Joe Lieberman was selected as the candidate for the VP.

But that was nearly 25 years ago.

The base is filled with people who are like AOC. They're antisemitic

Shapiro is an odd fit for the modern day Democratic Party.

Dearborn will vote for the Republican candidate in '28 than voting for Shapiro.
