President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly been hearing from several House Republicans about their concerns regarding House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).
Sources on Capitol Hill and people around Trump told the Hill the group was voicing their worries prior to the recent government funding debacle, the outlet reported on Tuesday.
The Republicans apparently talked with Trump weeks before the “shutdown showdown” and shared their worries about how Johnson has handled different issues, per the Hill. The outlet noted that most of the sources spoke on the condition of anonymity and did not share any of the Republicans’ names.

House R’s are Wimps. It’s not Trumps job to replace Johnson. It’s their job. But they don’t have the Nads to do it. IF Trump tried to replace him there would be backlash from the House because he’s overstepping his bounds.
Keep him a SPEAKER UNTIL they confirm all TRUMP’S PEOPLE!

The Speaker election is on Jan. 3 and Congress certifies the presidential election on Jan. 6, so he’s necessary to be around at least until the 6th. Trump is sworn on the 20th, so having a speaker around to hit the ground running would be helpful.
It would be nice, but I don’t think it’s really up to him. (Is it?)
I agree. I want him gone but I do not want anything to get in the way of the inauguration and the establishment of Trump’s team.
