Trump wants Justice Department to pursue death penalty
The Washington Times ^ | Tuesday, December 24, 2024 | Mallory Wilson

President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday he would direct the Department of Justice to pursue the death penalty on the heels of President Biden commuting the sentence of roughly all inmates on federal death row to life without parole.

“As soon as I am inaugurated, I will direct the Justice Department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters,” he wrote on Truth Social on Tuesday. “We will be a Nation of Law and order again!”

Mr. Biden announced Monday he’s stopping the execution of 37 men — all of whom were convicted of murder. Mr. Trump’s social media post included a screenshot of an article about Mr. Biden’s announcement.

Mr. Biden said in a statement, “Make no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for their victims of their despicable acts and ache for all families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss. But guided by conscience and my experience … I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.”

Mr. Biden left three inmates on death row: Robert Bowers, who killed 11 people in 2018 during a shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh; Dylann Roof, who massacred nine Black parishioners in 2015 at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina; and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving bomber from the 2013 Boston Marathon massacre.

The president said he didn’t grant those three commuted sentences because their actions were “terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder.”

Throughout his campaign, Mr. Trump said he would resume the federal death penalty, something Mr. Biden halted when he took over the White House in 2021.

Biden: "I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted."

No, Zhio, you can stand back--sit if you like--and just watch.

It may not be up to you you traitorous f**k! Let’s have a couple of forensic psychiatrists weigh in on whether or not you were competent to halt or decide ANYTHING!

First thing to do along those lines is for President Trump to sign death warrants for the remaining scum on Federal death row. He had his chance the first time around, and he blew it.

Now Biden has pardoned all the murdering villains overlooked by President Trump. In fairness, once they are on death row, they need to be quickly cut down to size, and buried in unmarked graves. Justice delayed is justice denied.

The remainder on Federal death row are:

  1. Boston Marathon bomber.
  2. Synagogue slayer.
  3. Racist church congregation killer.
Let's zero out the tally sheet.

Give them one year for appeals, then fry them. Use solar to power the chair so as not to increase our carbon footprint.

RE: Missed the three notorious headline cases.

A favorite Tom Clancy novel scene was the twin brothers in prison who shived the villain to death in the shower. Good to put “The End” to stories of the criminals on death row.

One way to frame the story of the Biden singling out only 3 famous murder cases is that the victims’ families, friends, neighbors and coworker of the others who were murdered are considered boring and politically inconsequential to Biden. So what if they cry and don’t like his commutations.

Obvious headline cases like the Boston Marathon one sound more important and are not like the losses of the common people in the other 37 murderer cases. Sorry, folks, Biden doesn’t care.

The good thing is, when it is proven that the 2020 election was stolen, everything Biden has done for the last 4 years becomes invalid. It can’t be reversed in some cases, such as money spent, but we can recoup some of the funds from those who wantonly participated in the theft of the 2020 election.

“Let’s zero out the tally sheet.”

If those three had the sense that there is safety in numbers, this Christmas Eve they most likely are starting to...perspire.

Would Biden rather pay for keeping murders alive rather than provide relief to hurricane victims?

He just thought to mention this in the...what, last month of his holding office? It didn’t occur to him at any time when he was a senator, VP or 98% of his presidency?

It’s my understanding that every murder involving a firearm CAN be pursued by the feds, although in 98% of them, they defer to lower levels of government.

If Trump can follow through on this promise, women might soon be able to walk alone in our major cities.

I'd kinda like to see many in the 'Justice' Department pursued by the death penalty.
(After a fair, just and legal trial, of course.)

“Biden said in a statement”. That’s a laugh! He may have read those words from a teleprompter, but they weren’t his words. A stack of pardons was put in front of him, and he signed them -— maybe. With my arthritis, I would have a hard time signing 37+ documents. His entire presidency has been nothing but one big fat lie after another.
