The subway burning victim’s name was Amelia Carter, a 29-year-old woman.
In recent days, social media platforms have been abuzz with discussions surrounding the tragic incident of a woman set ablaze in a New York City subway. Amidst the outcry, the name "Amelia Carter" has surfaced, with many asserting that she is the 29-year-old victim of this heinous act. This information has been widely disseminated online, despite the New York Police Department (NYPD) refraining from making any formal announcements regarding the victim's identity...
According to some social media accounts, Amelia Carter, a dedicated nurse originally from Orlando, Florida, had been working at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City since her move to the city two years ago to advance her career. On the day of the tragic incident, she was reportedly on her way to visit her grandmother in Queens, as shared by her boyfriend, Shaun Michael.
Another X account "SV News" reported: "Amelia Cater had a very bright future, being a graduate of SUNY purchase and obtaining her PHD from UPenn".
Amelia Carter '18 is enrolled full-time at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is pursuing a PhD in History and Sociology of Science.
She is interested in post-industrial leisure cultures, critical cultural geography, queer ecology, and the development of cartographic technology.
Carter previously received her Master of Science in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah in 2023. She successfully defended her thesis, "Gazing at Queer Ecological Precarity: A Fugitive Map of Fire Island, New York," which explores the intersection of colonialism, class, and climate on Fire Island, a historically LGBTQ-friendly barrier island located about 40 miles east of the largest city in America. She (de)constructs Queer Ecology upon shifting beach sands by looking at National Park Service place-making initiatives along the Seashore and private property regimes.

That face looks like AI to me.
Pretty girl. Shame that she was confused and went down the LGBT path. Penn’s Amelia Carter apparently was a full-spectrum leftist wrote an essay decrying the “militarization” of the Philly police.
That’s queer.
I’m not so sure. Wouldn’t a nurse know to do something besides stand and burn? Remove the jacket, drop and roll, get off the burning train? Do something.
There are so many puzzling aspects to this story.
You’re right. There ARE!
I don’t understand how that police officer could just pass by twice and not even make a half-hearted attempt or move towards her when she was burning. Nor do I understand the perp fanning her flames or anyone else there standing by almost casually.......
The other thing I don’t understand is the comments here on this thread about her LGBT - whatever stance.
The ONE THING I do understand is that Biden, Mayorkas et al bear the responsibility because of the illegal that did this.
We as a country are going to suffer from the illegal maniacs they’ve let in this country. Our only hope is Tom Homan is cut loose the second Trump is inaugurated and given full, unflinching support to clean out the invasion horde.
Well said. All of it.
It was reported that the victim was asleep under a blanket. I automatically thought she was a homeless person, possibly passed out from alcohol or drugs. Who in their right mind, especially a lone women, falls asleep like that on a NY subway after all of these awful crimes have been taking place?
I’ll await the rest of the story, since, so far, this is speculation (as was my own uninformed supposition).
She might have been in shock.
the bottom line is we need to punish those who did this to our country period
Maybe under the influence of alcohol or drugs?
Does it really matter? I don’t mean that in a negative way. She was a human being. And some creature from hell set her on fire. No one deserves that kind of end.
It shouldn't but it does. When the story first broke that a poor guest from Guatemala - a climate refugee if you will - burned a white woman, the latter was dismissed as possibly a drunk, and therefore no big deal.
But now that evidence has been forwarded that she was a high priestess of LGBTQRXYZ Ecology, a real twofer, it suddenly matters to the journos and their 24/7 agenda driven reporting. Hispanics are lower on the DEI ranking than queers. The only group that trumps teh gheys is the muslims. Had the perp screamed "allahu akbar!" the media would be suggesting that the victim was an Islamophobe who dressed too provocatively.
Americans want the NAMES and firings and Trials
of every single “judge”, “lawyer”, and other,
who let this murderer go, ... and hired a “cop”
who would walk by as a young woman burned alive.
Jail for all of them.
I put a friend out who was burning.
I was very lucky it was at the beginning as neither one of us was hurt.
I moved my hands as fast as I could.
One of the scariest things I have ever done.
And I’ve done lots of scary things.
Pretty sure the PhD bio is AI trolling.
You were lucky there wasn’t an accelerant involved glad you two came out ok.
Was some kind of flammable/ accelerant used. I thought most clothing was partially flame resistant. I tried to dispose of clothing/rubbish by burning and it didn’t work too well.
Why did she just stand there and let her be self be burned to death? Was she just in shock after sleeping? If she had just gotten down on the floor and rolled she could have put herself out. Also, the cop who just walked by could have thrown his coat on her to extinguish the small amount of flames at that point
