Mitch Has Backup for Wars: Lindsey Is the New Budget Chair
Independent Sentinal ^ | 12-21-24 | Dowling Bottom Line

Posted on 12/21/2024 1:46:11 PM PST by bimboeruption

The biggest War Hawk in the Senate, Lindsey Graham, is now chair of the Budget committee. At the same time, Susan Collins and Mitch McConnell are in control of key funding committees.

The swamp RINOs control the Senate, wars, and borders. Expect billions and billions to go to the war unless the DOGEs can do something or the House starts using their powers over appropriations.

Lindsey is mostly a Democrat when it comes to Liberty and voting.

Global elites will run the Senate. There is not one actual conservative. Barrasso and Cotton are on some things. They are all warmonger and did mostly nothing about the border.

•Leader: John Thune [SD]
•Whip: John Barrasso [WY]
•Conference Chair: Tom Cotton [AK, warmonger]
•Policy Committee Chair: Shelley Moore Capito [WV]
•Conference Vice Chair: James Lankford [Lankford, OK, is the person who gave us the horrendous border deal]
•NRSC (National Republican Senatorial Committee) Chair: Tim Scott [SC]

Graham claims he will work to secure the border. We’ll see. However, we didn’t vote for this.

Why do you act like it is a surprise that the Senators we already knew who are there would end up being the Senators who are...there?

All of the above are walking talking arguments for repealing the 17th Amendment. Return us back into the Republic the Founding Fathers intended!

I don’t think the Senate can go to war unless the President says so. The President can also veto funding so I think Trump can stop it if he is willing to

It’s not that we have bad chairmen, it’s that we have bad Congressmen and Senators!

Until we take congressional elections as serious as the presidency and get a process in place to put better candidates up for election, we’ll just get the same old shite.

The whole purpose of the 17th Amendment is to make the Senate more Democratic.

I understand the problems with that. I've heard that a million times.

But I haven't heard anyone make a good argument on why we should repeal the 17th amendment and give the powers back to the state legislature.

90% of the American voters will be against the repeal.

We have similar debate regarding the 19th Amendment. Yes, we should repeal it. But is it realistic? No.

“I don’t think the Senate can go to war unless the President says so. The President can also veto funding so I think Trump can stop it if he is willing to”

Related (from 2021):

Congress overrides Trump veto for the first time

“Congress delivered a stinging rebuke to President Trump during a rare New Year’s Day session Friday, handing him his first veto override in the final days of his administration.

The GOP-controlled Senate voted 81-13 to override Trump’s veto of a mammoth defense bill, well above the two-thirds support necessary, underscoring the depth of disagreement between the two sides of Pennsylvania Avenue.

The House voted 322-87 earlier this week to nix Trump’s veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which greenlights spending levels and lays out policy for the Pentagon.”
