President-elect Donald Trump blasted Democrats on Thursday night, accusing them of voting for a shutdown.
In a brief statement, Trump said "Nearly every single House Democrat just voted against government funding and to shut down the government."
These 197 Democrats voted against keeping the government open, disaster relief, and aid for farmers," he added.
Democrats voted overwhelmingly against the second attempt at a continuing resolution Thursday evening, joining a few dozen Republicans in the process. This CR was backed by Trump, who called for the new bill to include suspending the debt ceiling. This bill would have done so until 2027.
Vice President-elect JD Vance and other Republicans also blasted the second attempt at a CR.

This isn’t even 3D chess. Bringing it to the floor under suspension requires 2/3 vote, around 290. The minute Obama Minime announced the Dems were going to vote no, the bill was dead, and all the debate and vote were kabuki theater. Now it’s either go through the rules committee, or let the government shut down for two weeks and have Trump and social media combat the Dem propaganda machine. I like the latter, but either way is OK.
It’s fun to shift blame, but 30 Republicans killed the Plan B bill.
If it’s blame we’re looking for, we can thank Musk for blowing up the deal Johnson was able to cobble together.
With the bigger megaphone, Trump and Musk are going to win the fight. Even after the defeat of the Democrats in November this year, the House Democrats are too stupid to realize the fix they are in.

The deal that Johnson cobbled together was worse than no deal.
Johnson worked a secret closed door deal with Schumer, McConnell, and 0bama Jr., just like they do every year. 15000 page bill that no one reads and 15 minutes to pass it. I’m glad it didn’t pass. Shut that dumpster fire down until Trump takes over.
IDK a win is a win. They reduced the pages in the bill from 1500 to what looked like a couple of hundred. They took most of the pork out. I can understand the reason some Republicans voted against it. But the win would have set a good tone.
Just my thoughts

They can always run it again if they want it off their plate and on to the next item.
