Ukraine Will Have to Give Up Territory for Peace: NATO Leader
Newsweek ^ | Dec 16, 2024

Posted on 12/18/2024 10:13:16 AM PST by McGruff

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said peace in Ukraine could be obtained only through compromise, including territorial concessions.

In a December 15 interview with the broadcaster Slovak Television and Radio, Pellegrini said, as translated by the Ukrainian news site Ukrainska Pravda: "When it comes to peace, I think we need to remain realistic. Probably no one in Europe among reasonable people today believes that peace can be achieved without some partial territorial losses for Ukraine."

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to return to office on January 20, has repeatedly vowed to end the yearslong Russia-Ukraine conflict "within 24 hours." According to Reuters, Trump's advisers have devised possible peace plans for Ukraine that reflect sentiments similar to Pellegrini's, with Kyiv conceding some territory and abandoning its application to join NATO.

I think the first step along the way to a resolution in this war is that Zelenskyy is removed, period.

What is your idea? Expand the war and get the US to fight Russia? That’s the only other option for Ukraine. They don’t have the military strength to defeat Russia and recover all their territories.

Just as many of us have predicted.
The Alternative is to send American Solders to push out Ruzzia.
That isn’t going to happen.

The same people, who guaranteed territorial integrity of Ukraine in Budapest!

EU guarantees are not worth the price of paper, they are printed on!

Apropos of Newsweek, have you ever noticed the “red” hotlinks in the articles. In this case, more than a dozen and ALL lead to other Newsweek web pages, rather than to any other-sourced information. More Newsweek pages seen, more Newsweek ad placements seen, and therefore more billing.

From a more authoritative source:

Peace cannot be achieved without territorial loss for Ukraine, Slovak president says Kyiv Independent, 16 December 2024.

It is most interesting that the Ukrainian media is writing for English-speaking readers, and the first of the few comments is by an American.

Where and for what?

In the meantime...pay attention to the Middle East where Muslims run wild and kill for the love of killing.

Ukraine can thank the US State Department, CIA, and NATO for their losses of: territory; infrastructure; population; economic stability; human rights.

If there’s anything the USA knows how to do well, it is to create turmoil and misery in the world, that’s for sure.

It is beyond reality to not Blame Russia 100%. Why can’t it be Russia that compromises and exits all Ukraine land? After 3 years of war no one should be afraid of Russia anymore.

THAT ONLY INCENTIVIZES PUTIN TO DO THE SAME SOMEWHERE ELSE.

That's nonsense.

Putin only took action after:

*We broke our promise made in the early '90s not to expand NATO eastward.

*We fomented an illegal coup in Ukraine that installed a Ukrainian nationalist government seeking to cutoff Russian access to its naval base in Crimea.

*We and other NATO countries encouraged Ukraine to renege on the Minsk Accords, which, if implemented, would have kept Donetsk and Lugansk part of Ukraine with a high level of autonomy and prevented this war.

*Built up a 600,000 man army on Russia's border.

It was our meddling and aggression that setoff a civil war in Ukraine that led to the present war.

Your narrative is a lie and one that has us closer to WW III and nuclear war than we were during the Cold War.

You and the globalists behind this war are far bigger threat to the well being of Americans than Russia, which would leave us and Europe alone if NATO countries ceased its aggression toward it.
