Summary
Ukraine says it killed a Russian general who died in an explosion in Moscow on Tuesday morning
Lt Gen Igor Kirillov was at the entrance to a residential block when a device hidden in an electric scooter went off
Sources in the Ukrainian security services tell the BBC Kirillov was a "legitimate target"
On Monday, Kirillov was charged in Kyiv for the use of banned chemical weapons in Ukraine
Kirillov had already been sanctioned by the UK, and others, for his role in Russia's use of chemical weapons
The bomb was remotely operated and contained around 300g of explosives, Russian state media reports

Good riddance to a murderous monster!
Putin doesn’t seem to have read Sun-Tzu —> a long war is bad for both sides.
Both sides have accused the other of using chemical weapons. So far, I have seen no hard proof either side has used them.

Other news outlets are reporting his assistant was also killed in the blast:
Russia has used chemical weapons, it’s been well-documented
Ukraine hasn’t, because that’s a condition of it receiving Western aid, so it’s closely monitored
Russia naturally accuses Ukraine of everything that Russia is actually doing itself ... typical lying dictatorship
Well documented by whom?
Yes, our State Department has “determined” that, but apparently based solely on Ukrainian allegations:

Sorry, I’ve seen breathless allegations of chemical weapons and use of white phosphorus in other wars where the belligerents wanted “the international community” to condemn the other side. When international teams investigated, it always turned out to be false. Funny how they haven’t invited OPCW to investigate.
“Funny how they haven’t invited OPCW to investigate”
Read this -
“OPCW Investigation Confirms Russia’s Likely Use of Chemical Weapons Against Ukraine”
“Russia’s consistent denials that its military forces have deployed illegal chemical weapons in Ukraine were dealt a serious blow on November 18, when the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) announced that it had recently conducted a Technical Assistance Visit to Ukraine and established evidence of chemical weapons use....
The laboratories independently confirmed “that the grenade and soil samples collected from the trench contain the riot control agent 2-Chlorobenzylidenemalononitrile, known as CS.” The OPCW underscored that under the terms of the Chemical Weapons Convention, “the use of riot control agents as a method of warfare is prohibited.”
Putin believed what his corrupt, dishonest generals told him, that it would be over so fast and so easy that he didn’t even have to call it a war, and that the Ukrainians would greet the Russian troops as liberators. Two years later, here we are.
Arms manufacturers are making off like bandits, though.
Okay, that’s new to me. Thanks. So they finally brought in OPCW. Here is the actual OPCW report:
So they determined the Russians had used tear gas (presumably to clear the trench) in that instance. Very naughty and against international law. Before we get too high on our horses, though, let’s not forget we used thousands of tons of tear gas in Vietnam.
Breaking News? More like Breaking Wind.
Scooter drone.
Your tears of frustration taste delicious
Bomb kills head of Russia’s nuclear defense forces and his assistant in Moscow
“Well documented by whom?”
The UK had previously placed sanctions on Lt Gen Kirillov for the use of banned chemical weapons in Ukraine.
Kind of like our DemonRATs?
They placed the sanctions based on Ukrainian allegations, not evidence, before the OPCW investigation of that tear gas incident in late September of this year. See my #9 on this thread:

What if the headlines read:
“Chief Russian investigator of US Biolabs project in Ukraine, linked to Hunter Biden investment company, assassinated in Moscow”
