On Friday, President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on reports of drone sightings reported across the US, calling for them to be shot down if the government has no knowledge of them.
"Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge," Trump wrote. "I [don’t] think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, [shoot] them down!"

The joint statement claimed that "upon review of available imagery, it appears that
many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft, operating lawfully. There are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted air space."
In other words, private pilots or ultralight pilots, operating at night.
