Russia has launched a huge attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which authorities said was the twelfth large-scale attack on energy facilities this year.
Russia said the attack was in response to a Ukrainian strike on a military airbase in south-west Russia using US-made missiles, which US President-elect Donald Trump described as "crazy".
In an interview with Time magazine on Thursday, to mark being named Person of the Year, Trump said he disagreed "very vehemently" with American made missiles targeting sites in Russia.
"We're just escalating this war and making it worse," he said.

My grand uncle (dad’s uncle) was a BAR man in the Korean War (and he was in the thick of it). He died about 10 years ago I’m guessing.
anyway he told a very interesting story. Said the communists took a town with US and S Korean troops captured. He said the Chi Coms had half the town and the NK had the other half. The Allied forces counter-attacked and took the town back.
That on the Chinese side the POWs were stripped of weapons and boots, were given a cigarette and marched to the rear. Right across the road the POWs on the NK side had their hands tied behond their backs with barbed wire and were shot or bayoneted.
This thing is spiraling to worse and worse.
For the life of me, I can’t grasp what the realistic objective is. Do those hitting Russia really believe they are going to win this war, other than freeze the behinds off Ukrainians this winter.
The Deep State is looking ahead. They want the reconstruction contracts for their friends.

As usual, the US government is bereft of what we once called an “exit strategy,” a plan for the end of hostilities, with goals met or not met. Since no one knows what our goals are in ukraine, at least our official goals, there is no plan for an end game.
I know right! At this rate, he’s liable to make sure every kid in the country has a toy for Christmas...the monster!!
The other option, an actual declared war, I don't want to consider.
Per contract...On Jan 1 2025...All gas import from Russia to Ukraine ceases and the countries Ukraine serviced will see no gas from Russia.
So Ukraine hits military targets and Russia responds by hitting civilian infrastructure. This is a terrorist tactic and sign that they cannot win on the battlefield.
What “end game” would be needed since we aren’t in a war and we aren’t there? Ending deliveries doesn’t require an “end game” or an “exit strategy” does it?
DOGE needs to announce that first project will be an audit of all monies ever sent to Uk.
