Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich likened President-elect Donald Trump to Beowulf, given all of the efforts, including impeachment and assassination, to thwart his rise over the past nine years.
“Isn’t it really rooted in this that there is a fear—a healthy fear, a healthy respect for Donald Trump, that he’s strong and tough, and that without even taking the oath of office, he almost single-handedly—his election has reestablished America as the world’s leader?” host Sean Hannity asked.
“Look, if you’re a relatively sophisticated leader around the world, and you watch nine years of the rise of Donald Trump, and you watch two impeachments, and you watch all of these efforts to catch him in the law, and you watch two assassination attempts, and the guy just keeps coming,” Gingrich replied. “I said the other day, this is a mythic figure almost like the various Scandinavian Beowulf’s and other kind of sagas. I mean, you can’t — there’s no practical way that you can explain Trump within a normal political structure. He now represents clearly something like a according to the latest Rasmussen poll, 55% of the American people believe that he has in fact got a clear mandate, only 32% don’t agree.

Trump isn’t the leader we deserve but HE IS the leader we need.
BTTT
I would also add attributes of Hercules or Samson....there is “something” about this man.
He is a war horse among ponies.
“””“Look, if you’re a relatively sophisticated leader around the world, and you watch nine years of the rise of Donald Trump, and you watch two impeachments, and you watch all of these efforts to catch him in the law, and you watch two assassination attempts, and the guy just keeps coming,””””
Very true, mere mortal politicians and world leaders must be in awe of whatever magic sauce this magician manages, and he is doing this in an advanced modern nation in full view and with all systems in place, yet operating on a different plane entirely.
So. The Spear-Danes in days gone by
and the kings who ruled them had courage and greatness.
We have heard of those princes’ heroic campaigns.
There was Shield Sheafson, scourge of many tribes,
a wrecker of mead-benches, rampaging among foes.
This terror of the hall-troops had come far.
A foundling to start with, he would flourish later on
as his powers waxed and his worth was proved.
In the end each clan on the outlying coasts
beyond the whale-road had to yield to him
and begin to pay tribute. That was one good king.
For many decades the U.S. needed genuine leaders, but we got nothing but lawyers.
And they nearly drove the country into the GD ground.
Gotta be clear though, Jesus is still the name above all others.
Never pass up a chance to thrown in an entirely foul word for absolutely no reason.
People saw the same mojo in Washington. Even the Indians, nay, ESPECIALLY the Indians, were able to pick up on it.
Trump has been a mythical figure since the 1980s.
We needed leaders but got nothing but lawyers who nearly destroyed the country and here you are crying about the wording...
lol!
Beowulf, King Arthur, Shaka Zulu, Winston Churchill, all rolled into one.
What about Chuck Norris?
I see Trump as the embodiment of what the Founding Fathers intended for a president: a non political citizen who sees a civic duty to serve his country without regard for party or faction. The Founders especially Washington warn against the evils of “faction,” which were evident in the machinations of parties in British Parliament.
Because Trump is not a party guy, he earns the fear and distrust of all the careerists who are—both democrat and republican. That’s why they both hate him— he is loath to play their games…and doesn’t when he can avoid it. And yes, his relentless tenacity is of heroic dimensions.
Word.
“...magic sauce this magician manages,...”
There are many who believe he has been chosen by the Almighty to rescue a nation established by Godly men. Considering the many obstacles and attacks to destroy him, yet he continues. There is something very special about Donald Trump.
Trump is larger than life. Somehow, back in 2015 before he came down that escalator, he understood that the prevailing political and cultural paradigm was ready to collapse, like a house with a rotted frame. No matter how staunchly the establishment fought him, History moved forward in the direction he foresaw. As Shakespeare put it, “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at flood, leads to greatness”. Trump caught that flood when few others knew it was there. It is no wonder that his appeal extends beyond our borders; it’s no wonder that he is more popular other countries than the leaders of those countries.
WOW!
Thank you for this post!
Huh? That crazy logic made sense to you?
He is truly, “The Man In The Arena”.
