Dead Calm: Denmark Receives Zero Bids in Largest-Ever Offshore Wind Auction
gCaptain ^ | December 5, 2024 | Mike Schuler

Denmark received no bids in its largest-ever wind power tender, aimed to more than triple its offshore capacity by the end of the decade.

The Danish Energy Agency hadn’t received a single bid in a tender for three offshore wind farms in the North Sea by Thursday’s deadline, it said in a statement. It now will initiate a dialog with the market to find out why.

Denmark’s Climate and Energy Minister Lars Aagaard called the results “very disappointing” and said they were “not at all what was expected” when a broad majority in parliament entered into the political agreement to expand the country’s offshore wind capacity.

It was the first round in an tender to establish at least 6 gigawatts of wind power at sea in six parks by 2030. Aagaard recognized that the results “do not give rise to great optimism” for the other three farms in the tender, but said there may be “other players and business models at play.” The deadline for these bids is in April.

Denmark, a country of about 6 million people, is home to some of the world’s largest wind-energy companies, including Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Orsted A/S. The new offshore parks, in which the Danish state would take stakes of 20%, were vital for Denmark to reach its target to become carbon neutral in 2045.

Surprised China did not bid on it as part of their world expansion.

What people are betting on is off shore wind farms will be the first thing to go in a war.

Off shore wind turbines are a really bad idea. The cost to build are astronomical and the marine environment is a killer for turbines.

Worst of all is that turbines generate toxic sound waves in the oceans that seriously disturb and even kill marine life . These sound waves travel for huge distances under water.

Where is green peace on this

Wind turbines aren’t driven by wind. They’re driven by subsidies.

No matter how the loaf is sliced ANY “Business Model” regarding “wind farms” requires the taxpayer to COVER CERTAIN LOSSES. In WIND FARMS this large, that amount of money is huge.

A WIND FARM reminds of a certain “WIND MACHINE”. Namely, my twin engine airplane that thank God I don’t own anymore.

That “WIND MACHINE” cost me $10,000.00 per month in interest, taxes, fuel, pilot, repairs/maintenance, depreciation, hangar rent etc EVEN IF I did not go within 10 miles of the air plane the whole month.

Good. (Means Siemens Gamesa (their Euro wind division) will not lose more billions of money ..)

"Where is green peace on this"

Probably cashing checks as fast as they can to promote wind projects.

I’m surprised nobody bid for it. They don’t actually expect you to build them, they just want you to launder money.

Made me think of what really drives them, and I got a vision of a giant Biden or AOC crouching in front of a windmill farm, mouths open, spewing hot air and dollar bills to drive the turbines.

That’s doublespeak for “we’re dumbasses.”

More evidence of the ‘true pandemic.’

“Wind Energy”, one of the greatest skimming operations in history. Making the “connected” wealthier as the looting of public treasuries goes into high gear.

Indeed, and on the other end of it is the amount of CO2 just building the damned, ugly things. The amount from manufacturing, transport, of the steel and fiber glass is one thing but even worse with just ONE concrete base.

Some bases are over 1000 tons! The amount of C02 used in just making the concrete for one windmill is in the metric tons which just shows what a scam it is.

“It now will initiate a dialog with the market to find out why.”

It’s because they know what a crock it is, don’t want to screw their own country, and only want to exploit American democrat suckers.

Was watching the series land man and the character Tommy was explaining to a lawyer about the true nature of windmills, and in that “explanation” he said something to the effect of “and don’t get me started on solar” lol
