The Democrats could win every presidential election and control the other levers of government if they would reconsider their views on this one thing: religion.
In the past, Democrats could comfortably speak the language of the religious, especially the religious working class they have now lost to Republicans — at least, enough of them from every ethnic and racial demographic to cause Democrats to lose the presidency and control over the rest of government.
The religious working class are indeed aggrieved. They have been neglected economically, educationally and religiously. The Democrats failed in their responsibility to fight for them — their base — in an era where all three of their critical interests are at risk in the ever-shifting information economy.
Choosing to fight on the opposite side of the culture conflicts from the Republicans did not in and of itself cause the alienation of the religious working class. No, it was because of those who the Democrats chose as their champions to fight for them in the culture conflicts. Democrats put their trust in the sophisticated intellectual class of the academy to lead their party through the decadeslong culture war.
For 60 years, the secular sophisticates have put up a very successful fight in the culture conflicts. It is clear their victories, which are numerous, have been at the expense of alienating the religious working class that for generations had been the base of the Democratic Party.

Yeah, they’ve got to work harder on concealing their vicious hatred of Judeo-Christianity.
Pandering to the religious working class would not have worked. Most mainline protestant church’s are empty, because the older generations who still believe in God are passing away, and the younger generations don’t believe in God. As for myself, a middle-aged white male, I left the Methodist Church because they were becoming too “progressive.” I found a Calvary Baptist Church who’s morals match mine, and I would never vote democrat.
FWIW, I have many friends who are still congregants of the ELCA branch of the Lutheran Church who couldn’t bring themselves to leave because of the social ties and networks. Their children, however, are a totally different story once they discover that full Christianity OR Secularism are preferable to the secular version of Christianity preached by the ELCA.
The Calvary Baptist Church I go to is teeming with young people, and the values taught at my Church at heretical to the democrat party. Marriage is the Union of one man and one woman, Abortion violates the 6th Commandment(Thou shall not murder), etc.
The insane depths of ‘identify politics’ the D’s focus on is the reason they lost. It’s all they know how to do.
Let them continue...
Of course the nation's atheist Maoist elites are trying their best to change that.
The Democrats lost the 2024 election because there was so much support for Trump they couldn’t generate enough fraud to steal it.
Fortunately Democrats are doing as you wish, especially with the doubling down on weird sexual perversions. They did some bathroom antics this week at the capitol, then there was the insane pro kiddie mutilation logic coming from Kagan and Jackson at SCOTUS.
Look at the comments on Twitter about the Dudes for Harris ads.

No wonder guys of all races are leaving Democrats whether they’re religious or not.
1) No interviews for 38 days after immaculating to the nomination.
2) Doing her Butterfly McQueen impersonation + xanaxed hungover too on the nose on The Spew: "Can't think of a thing I'd have done differently and I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies."
3) "Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally!" in response to pro-life attendees at her Milwaukee rally in mid-October.
The latter corresponded nearly 1:1 time-wise in 2016 to the Wikileaks revelations that Cankles and the Podestas had participated in Marina Abramović's outright Satanic #SpiritCooking. Don't forget that the Wikileaks were 'rolled out' and that Cankles' strong attraction to Luciferarianism was in the last batch of released emails.
That shut off Cankles to any wavering mushy middle type, as did Karamela's 'GTFO out of my rally, Christofascist.'
The argument you're responding to is in its way accurate--because the world view of much of the Democratic base and the Democratic Far Left have long been very different, serving different interests and different dreams.
My own family of origin were Democrats. But we had no interest in socialism or Communists under any flag--nor did most Democrats in those days. Today, the Dems of yore would be "conservative Democrats." And maybe folks like them--those who have not yet become Republicans, as my family did--have begun to re-take their party.
The game-changer for us was the pro-life issue. At first, pro-lifers just annoyed us--although we were reflexively pro-baby and pro-life. Then we heard what was coming from the mouths of the Democratic Party candidates on that issue (the view the DNC sells now)--and it was obviously sick and weird. It caused a stampede among Democrats toward any candidate who wasn't a 1960s radical and abortion-worshipper.
The Republicans, after missing decades of opportunity, began moving toward a generally pro-life position--upsetting much of the GOP jet-set, but gaining working-class voters, especially Catholics, in droves.
Pushing the Tranny message and unsecured borders cost the election.
NOT fighting it also cost the GOP-e control of the GOP.
We got a two for one deal!
Democrats have selected their religion: Worship of government, with abortion as their sacrament, and transsexuals as their high priests. To reconsider their treatment of actual religions and religious people, they would have to renounce their own deeply held beliefs.
To use an old joke to illustrate: If my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle!
Fixed it.
It looks like Romney got replaced by an actual conservative for starters.
