The suspect in Wednesday’s killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson allegedly left a message on shell casings which consisted of the words “Defend,” “Deny,” “Depose.”
Breitbart News reported 50-year-old Thompson was shot and killed outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan just after 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Hours after the killing, the NYPD held a press conference and made clear they believe the killing was targeted not random.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny pointed out that the suspect was wearing a “distinctive gray backpack,” black face mask, light brown jacket, and black and white sneakers. He said the suspect “[ignored] numerous other pedestrians,” approached Thompson from behind, and shot him in the back.

Multiple witnesses said he was wearing a CREAM colored jacket
What I found interesting was that the shooter had to cycle his gun after every round while using a suppressor.
That tells me his ammunition / suppressor combination had not been tested.
This guy was not a pro, just some amateur pretending.
“ Hours after the killing, the NYPD held a press conference and made clear they believe the killing was targeted not random.”
Oh really? They “believe” it was targeted and not random? No shit Sherlock. I wonder what gave them that idea…
SMH
Multiple law enforcement contacts told Fox News that they believed the weapon used in the murder resembled a “Welrod”, a bolt action, suppressed pistol first used in WW2.
Some subsonic ammo doesn’t produce enough energy to rack a round when carrying the extra weight of a suppressor. Could have been expected but looked like one round didn’t seat requiring an smack on the back of the slide to engage. Just my observation.
When NYC shooting details must be reported for the third time, we can always count on ChicagoConservative27 to shovel the story into the catch-all Business/Economy topic.
Good point, suppressor was obvious, but the media said nothing.
The manual cycling was addressed by an expert on fox this morning. The gist of it was manual cycling along with a silencer makes the weapon even quieter.

How about you take your trigger finger off the Business/Economy topic when you post every thread?
Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack?
That was a great show
Planted evidence? Dead men tell no tales?
I told my wife they may eventually find the shooter dead......an old mafia tactic...kill the killer.
“Depose”
Apparently the killer was involved in serious litigation with United.
I found this interesting:
“”The gun appears to need to be racked after each shot. Unusual.”
He added that there are guns like that, and they’re designed to suppress the sound, but that there are also add-on features that can be added to keep the slide of a semiautomatic gun from wrecking.
“That means that after you shoot, you’re going to have to rack the slide of the gun in order to shoot again. He does that in the video, which argues that he may have added, and he may have modified the gun because these are sort of after market things that you can add to the gun,” Mauro said.”

“I’d bet my pension that this is the weapon that was used on the United CEO. It’s very, very quiet and requires manual cycling after each round is fired.
I read earlier that United DENIED 1/3 of all claims submitted.
Hope you are well NautiNurse. Good call. The guy didn’t know or understand his arms and ammo combination. Suppressors do have effects on performance.
Based on the video, I would argue the contrary. The shooter appeared to fully anticipate the need to manually cycle the action and was prepared to do so.
Even if the malfunctions were not anticipated, his immediate steps to clear them were the actions of at least a semi-trained shooter.
