Gavin Newsom, Adam Schiff Criticize Biden over Hunter Pardon

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and incoming California Senator Rep. Adam Schiff (D) have criticized President Joe Biden for pardoning his son, Hunter, on Sunday, becoming the most prominent Democrats to voice concerns.

Newsom, thought to be positioning himself for a 2028 presidential run after he is termed out of office in 2026, told Politico that he was “disappointed” in the decision because he took Biden at his word that he would not do it.

“With everything the president and his family have been through, I completely understand the instinct to protect Hunter,” he told Politico. “But I took the president at his word. So by definition, I’m disappointed and can’t support the decision.”

By this pardon of Hunter, Biden stabbed all his defenders in the back.

And Biden being Biden (i.e., sleazy), he just doesn't give a damn.

So who in the **** do schiff and newsome think that they are, anyway?

They never would have opened their stinky traps if Biden did this before the election.

Why?
Power.

But now they think they are the current and future power holders/seekers in the party, and Biden has outlived his usefulness.

Now, it’s squak away.

In 2018, then Cong Schiff tells then-CNN host Don Lemon that if then-president Trump
were to pardon one of his sons, he could be found “guilty of obstruction of justice.”

“In the event that the president pardons anyone in an investigation in which the president is a witness, the subject, or the target, those investigative files would all be turned over to the Congress.”

“The Congress ought to know whether the president is using pardon power to obstruct justice.
The American people have a right to know,” Schiff said.

Schiff filed legislation “to rein in Trump’s ability to pardon family members.”

Look, to be honest we all expected at least a commutation of sentencing for Hunter for his Tax Evasion and Gun-related convictions.

But the shocking and revolting aspect is the blanket pardon for all federal crimes committed in the past 10 years and 11 months.

Unprecedented in U.S. history, with the second most expansive pardon ever granted being Ford's pardon of Nixon which covered a four-and-a-half year period.

“he [Newsom] took Biden at his word”

I’m shocked. Usually a democrats word is good as gold.

No it for the optics. I don’t know if they really care but it was not done by them. They have to look like they really care for future political gains. I would not doubt they are both shooting to be a future president so this is to look moral to the voter.

A Democrat with the political experience of Newsom knows FULL WELL that Biden and his people were bullshitting the entire time regarding the pardon...but why not bs it before the election...no downside.

Jill and Joe hardly care. They'll take their millions and go off for another seaside vacation!

Their conduct was unconscionable even before Joe got into the WH. So, the a^#clowns who respected or trusted him to lead the party and the country are just too stupid for words! The rest of us knew about him and his family from the beginning, but Liberals were attacking US not Joe!

Biden pardoning Hunter triggered Schiff...citing Trump’s desire to pardon J6 protesters.

Odd that Schiff did not dwell on Biden’s effort to obstruct
justice by whitewashing Hunter’s shady conduct in Ukraine.

Trump was probing this conduct when Schiff impeached Trump
for merely asking the Ukrainian government to investigate the Bidens.
