"Wen obtained firearms, ammunition, and export-controlled technology with the intention of shipping them to North Korea — a violation of federal law and United States sanctions against that nation," the agency says
An illegal immigrant from China was arrested for allegedly shipping "firearms, ammunition and other military items" to North Korea from California, according to a Justice Department indictment released on Tuesday.
Shenghua Wen, 41, of Ontario, California, was arrested on Tuesday after hiding the weapons "inside shipping containers bound from Long Beach," the agency said.
Wen, who was a Chinese national illegally residing in the United States, was expected to appear in court in in the Central District of California on Tuesday.
"Wen obtained firearms, ammunition, and export-controlled technology with the intention of shipping them to North Korea — a violation of federal law and United States sanctions against that nation," the agency said in a news release.

P
Another diaper load of “America’s strength” pulling shenanigans that he couldn’t pull in the third world crap hole he came from where they seriously enforce the law.
Did he clear California’s waiting periods for legal firearms acquisitions or did such laws not apply at all in this case?
If he’s an illegal, I don’t think he’s “of Ontario, California”. He’s from some place on the other side of the border.
Weapons being shipped illegally are generally stolen, mixed in with legal stuff like farming equipment and sent as a rider on a legal shipment. (Uhm, a friend told me.)
Yet one more example of “immigrants” doing the job, tasks that regular Americans just won’t do.
Biden’s open border legacy. This example, Chinese illegal, a spy, providing North Korea weapons…
Ammo/weapons. The Norks have plenty of their own. No technology transfer. Why not just send him to the country?
Why would North Korea need American made weapons and ammunition?
That either engage in assassinations or hire out to the Russians; other than standing guard, what would be the point?
A false flag operation?
Additionally if the ATF did the background check it would show he's not authorized to buy firearms.
The question in my mind is why would you buy uber expensive firearms in over regulated California? He should have just booked a trip to Afghanistan or Pakistan and saved a bunch of money.
There is more to this story. I'm guessing they were shipping the guns to try and overthrow the NK commy government and commy fellow travelers in the US administration had a problem with that.
Or, to get them to Nkorea they had to get them aboard a Chinese vessel. I imagine not too many ships get cleared to enter Nork ports.
This makes him a good candidate for Schiff’s chief of staff in 2028.
It would pay better.
Intended for use where the users and or equipment need to pass as American?
For resale.

Arms trade
During the 1980s, North Korea emerged as a legal arms trader to primarily Third World countries, exporting relatively inexpensive, technically unsophisticated, but reliable weapons.[37] During the Iran–Iraq War, some 90% of arms exports from North Korea went to Iran, and between 1981 and 1989, North Korea earned an estimated $4 billion from arms sales.[37]
North Korea has a known track record in proliferating nuclear and missile technology and in 2001, missile sales came to $560 million.[1] Following its 2006 nuclear test, international sanctions have sought to limit or prevent North Korea from exporting various types of arms, materials, and technology.[38] Prior to UN sanctions however, countries such as Japan and the United States took unilateral steps to curb such activities.[1]
UN sanctions now ban all arms, including small arms and light weapons.[39]: 14 North Korea has developed an extensive and complicated arms trade network in an attempt to circumvent sanctions and uses front companies and embassies to traffic weapons.[40] In a 2014 UN report, Syria, Myanmar, Eritrea, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia and Iran were all suspected to have bought weapons from North Korea.[40]
“ Wen, who was a Chinese national illegally residing in the United States, was expected to appear in court in in the Central District of California on Tuesday.”
Expected to appear?
“ Why would North Korea need American made weapons and ammunition?”
Goes to Russia.
FIRING SQUADS!!
No, he’s from the other side of the world.
