Ukraine’s exhausted troops in Russia told to cling on and wait for Trump
BBC ^ | Dec 2, 2024 | Paul Adams

The tone is dark, even angry.

“The situation is getting worse every day.”

Almost four months after Ukrainian troops launched a lightning offensive into the Russian region of Kursk, text messages from soldiers fighting there paint a dismal picture of a battle they don’t properly understand and fear they might be losing.

They speak of dire weather conditions and a chronic lack of sleep caused by Russia’s constant bombardment, which includes the use of terrifying, 3,000kg glide bombs.

They’re also in retreat, with Russian forces gradually retaking territory.

“This trend will continue,” Pavlo wrote on 26 November. “It’s only a matter of time.”

Napoleon tried it.

Hitler tried it.

Now Ukraine tries it.

Omg.

What did they expect to happen?

As a spoiling attack, it made sense.

But not to claim territory. To forward.

Just imagine what Ukraine would look like. Had Obama, Nuland and McCain not decided to stage a coup 10 years ago.

The Kursk attack was nothing but Ukrainian propaganda. Zelensky was waiting for a money and arm package to be approved. He wanted to get the media talking about a Ukrainian offensive. They picked Kursk because it was lightly defended and pretty desolate. Ukraine took troops from the front where they were needed to defend against Russian attacks. They also sent some of their best equipment to Kursk. Now they have troops that are basically stuck in enemy territory. Resupply is almost impossible and the wounded soldiers are lucky to be evacuated. It won't end well for the soldiers in the Kursk region. I don't know what president Trump can do for them.

How about we parachute Liz Cheney in to settle things once and for all.

Losing side gets her.

I sense that the Ukraine was a favored son of Soviet Russia. It was left with far too much Soviet-era infrastructure intact. The ill-considered shenanigans of the Left have, at least, forced that to the surface.

Here is the deal.

Putin lets the Uk troops go home unmolested.

Putin gets to execute Z.

Win win.

Zelensky is gonna get up and say that it wasnt his/Ukraines war.
That they had agreed to settle it but were tricked into continuing it.

And, he has a couple examples to back up that statement.

This incursion for distraction is nothing like what Hitler and Napoleon were attempting.

The Ukranian offensive into Kursk is similar to Hitler’s offensive thru the Ardennes Forrest in December of 1944, both attacks caught the other side off guard and had a lot of initial success.

As the defenses gained their footing they began to drive the invading side back and in Germany’s case they were finished on the Western Front while also getting decimated on the Eastern Front.

However long it takes and regardless of the cost, Russia will drive Ukraine out of Kursk, while at the same time Russia will keep pounding Ukraine in other areas of the country.

It’s going to be a long cold winter in Ukraine with a lot dead soldiers on both sides.

No, St Z will finally allow elections. The Ukrainian people now know what he has done to them. He will lose the election, jet off to one of his mansions…IF they don’t put his head on a stick ( most likely the military).

“Good idea but bad implementation,” says Myroslav, a marine officer who served in Krynky and is now in Kursk.
“Media effect, but no military result.”

The money quote.
