The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily suspended accepting mail headed to Canada due to the strike by Canada Post workers.

It is asking customers to refrain from mailing items addressed to Canada, until further notice.

The move by the U.S. Postal Service comes after some 55,000 Canada Post workers walked off the job more than two weeks ago.

Canada is literally going through Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged.”

Use FedEx or UPS.

Expensive, and not as reliable as shipping stateside. Many years ago, I sent my then fianceƩ a Christmas present UPS BLUE. A Brooks Brothers sweater, and some specialty teas. It took 4 WEEKS to arrive! Held up in customs (my suspicion is they thought the tea was a masking agent. Some of the stuff gets rerouted by DHL.

Shipping to Canada is needlessly complicated and expensive. Postal service is often the best of a list of bad options.

It’s a real pain in the ass for me. Walmart Financial’s website was “upgraded” and it wouldn’t allow me to see my transactions. They also somehow got me with 2 cards, yet the online account only showed transactions for 1 of them - that was before the upgrade. So I got fed up and told them to send me paper statements again.

Long story short, I guess I will just have to guess what I owe while the mail strike is going on.
