Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of Hillsborough, Florida, County Sheriff Chad Chronister as head of the Drug Enforcement Administration. No one is quite sure how Sheriff Chronister popped on the radar. A lot of Florida alumni are showing up in Trump 2.0, and, of course, Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi started her political career as the prosecutor in Hillsborough County.
This is the announcement.

"The Most Democratic of Republicans"
“The right’s gone way too far right for me,” he says. “So where does that leave a lot of Republicans — a lot of people?” - Chad Chronister
This is the next DEA head. A never trumper Covidian wokester. https://t.co/6RRwEteB9S
— Cernovich (@Cernovich) December 1, 2024 He believes Republicans are too far right.
When I ask him about all this , Chronister says he is “the most Democratic of Republicans,” a “hybrid of both parties,” fiscally conservative, socially Democrat. Actually, he was a Democrat until people convinced him you should have the same party affiliation as the sheriff for whom you work. He doesn’t think of the office as partisan anyway.

With all the good Sheriffs to choose from in Florida why did Trump pick the one that is the least MAGA and most woke? He's a lockdown Covidian, DEI booster.
Weird pick
Will he be a great DEA Administrator?
Trump says yes.

And that’s all that really matters.
Will he be good at his job?
I dont care if he does/doesnt support lgbtbabcdef.
If he’s gonna get the job done, then fine.
If not, then let him go.
It’s that simple.
Why do we even need a drug enforcement administration?
Word is Trump is moving slightly left of center...
Thankless, impossible, job with millions defending the right to get blitzed.
Might as well let a Demonicrat fail at it.
>> Word is Trump is moving slightly left of center...
What word? Who is speaking that word? Do tell!
...or is it just you?
Word is . From who..
The arrest was in March 2020, in the 2nd month of covid. There was not a lot known about it and the country was in total panic. Like “we are all going to die” panic. What did he do as things became clearer?
sorry but after DJT was violated multiple times without vaseline by poor picks from his 1.0 administration, we can’t just let poor nominees slide by (I truthfully am not familiar with the nominee so I don’t know in this case)
If he’s loyal to the Trump train and willing to MAGA then perhaps it’s fine.
Go through what red state has on him, the pick is awful. Pressure should be applied to change nominee
“If he’s loyal to the Trump train and willing to MAGA then perhaps it’s fine.”
As long as he does the job I don’t care if he is MAGA or not.
Speak for yourself.
To my everlasting shame, I actually believed the covidiocy for about ten days ...
What is the DEA job anyways? The DEA is all about arresting doctors than going after drug gangs and cartels. It’s easier to raid a doctors office than a drug house. The DEA is spending more of it’s time practicing medicine than doing law enforcement. The DEA needs to keep its nose out of medical practices. The regulation of medical practice should be done at the state level not federal.
I don’t know if this pick will understand this issue.
Maybe this guy is a compromise deal with the Senate RINOs to make sure Kash gets confirmed.
Turning these United States around will be tough enough without ideological opposites within the ranks.
Susie Wiles is reportedly the “most feared woman in DC”, and a former big pharma lobbyist and pro vax, any vax, advocate. Supposedly she changed her ways and saw the light. She somehow manages to avoid any publicity, so it’s hard to know.
Did she influence this appointment? Why him out of probably dozens of other well qualified people?
Well let’s see Todd Sterns, he is very close to Trump and others and works with Trump and his team. Glen Beck has said it and he is in with Trump and team.
