ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an incident involving an elderly man shooting the suspect in the buttocks after he started attacking a female victim.
On November 25, around 10 a.m., deputies were called to the 8900 block of Bluegrass Drive for a domestic disturbance. The man told police that Nathaniel Brooks, 32, was pushing, punching and slapping the female victim.
The man called 911 and retrieved his handgun, according to court documents. Brooks continued to attack the woman and the man shot him in the buttocks with no intention of killing him, officials reported.
The woman told authorities Brooks began arguing with her and punched a hole in the wall before attacking her.
The suspect was taken to Javon Bea Hospital and was treated for his gunshot wound. He is now lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
Brooks is charged with aggravated battery of a woman over the age of 60 and battery causing bodily harm.
The incident occurred in Rockford, Illinois.

On a personal level, last February or March there was a gunfight right across the street from my brother’s house at about 4 in the morning. My sister in law was outside with their dogs when all hell broke loose. Luckily she and the dogs were safe behind a retaining wall. My brother was in their living room laying on the couch. Only later did he realize that there was a bullet hole in his picture window,with a bullet hole in the opposite wall. Lucky for him he was laying down, if he had been standing up he would’ve caught it in his ear. They finally replaced that window last week.
The cops? PFFFT! They took statements, picked up over 40 shell casings from across the street, and nothing more was heard by anyone- not my brother, nothing in the media. Nothing. There is NO transparency as far as the police goes. Scanner traffic is encrypted. As you may have guessed, the democrats run that town, so it’s not surprising.

Good thing Roseanne didn’t see it. The suspect would have been going to the morgue.
I don’t think if I felt that it was necessary to shoot someone, the buttocks would be the place I would have targeted. Seems rather risky, IMHO.
One would think that this would change the attitude of the perp woman beater, but he will just do it in private now, not in public
