X, the social platform owned by Elon Musk, is getting involved in the pending bankruptcy sale of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s Infowars to the satirical newspaper The Onion.
In an objection filed Monday, X said its terms of service (TOS) prevent Jones’s X accounts from being sold off without the company’s approval. The platform does not oppose the other aspects of the sale.
Musk has developed an increasingly close relationship with President-elect Trump, having donated millions to Musk’s own pro-Trump super PAC and appeared on the campaign trail. After the election, Trump named Musk to co-head a new “Department of Government Efficiency,” and he has been a frequent presence at Mar-a-Lago.
“The Trustee now seeks to contravene X Corp.’s TOS by improperly selling or otherwise transferring the X Accounts (which neither Jones nor his bankruptcy estate own) to a third party,” X wrote in Monday’s objection.
“While X Corp. takes no position as to the sale of any Content posted on the X Accounts, X Corp. is the sole owner of the Services being sold as part of the sale of the X Accounts.”

The bankruptcy judge had not authorized an auction.
The bankruptcy trustee, a crook, ran a an unauthorized “auction” where the bids were secret and they eventually admitted The Onion didn’t have the highest bid, nor did they have the cash on hand as required. It was a fraudulent “auction” and a fraudulent sale, and they used it take over Alex’s studio and disconnect its internet connection.
Alex told them while they were doing it that they were committing a crime and were going to get into a lot of trouble.
When the bankruptcy court judge found out about it, he was livid and had them give the studio back to Alex. They came to him and returned his studio and said “So sorry, we made a mistake. No hard feelings, OK?” after spending the past seven years trying to destroy Jones and his family.
Alex is suing the crap of them, and he has legitimate cases. He was the proof-of-concept of the lawfare they used against Trump, and they did a lot of highly illegal things to him over the years that he had to keep quiet about because they were ongoing court cases. That’s over, and Wyatt Earp is coming for them, and Hell is coming with him.

Same is true for commercially-available products. Microsoft directly places advertisements into Windows OS and Google uses telemetry data to better target product placement with both Chrome and Android on phones.
The singular way for any user to not be the actual product is to go with Linux.

The first Linux machine I built was around 1990. I had met Linus online and we thought he may have been on to something since we were using commercial grade Unix.
It was an EISA motherboard and had 4 experimental SCSI controllers. 16 drives all together.
