“Smith’s filing for dismissal “without prejudice” emphasized the temporary nature of the president’s prosecutorial immunity, leaving the door open to post-presidential prosecution – even of the same case. “

Jack avoided a dismissal with prejudice so he can run the same scam after Trump is out of office.

"For the reasons set forth in the accompanying Opinion, ECF No. 282, the Government's Motion to Dismiss, ECF No. 281, is hereby GRANTED, and the Superseding Indictment, ECF No. 226, is hereby DISMISSED without prejudice," Judge Tanya Chutkan wrote in a one-page order.

Perhaps a stupid question. Is there a statute of limitations?

If I remember correctly the federal statute of limitations for felonies is 6 years. They would not be able to refile until 8 years and a couple weeks from the alleged conduct. Not to worry— we’ve learned that the Statute of Limitations only applies to democrats like Hunter. Not applicable to republicans

Trump and his lawyers are gonna have to be very creative when crafting his own self-pardon 4 years from now: he’ll have to include this, for certain, but also any other nonsense they can dream up — just in case they choose to punish an 80+ year-old man for being awesome.

NOT good enough. Smith must go to prison for treason.

How does this impacts the hundreds of hostages the DoJ arrested and imprisoned?

I thought that if you just say, “Forget about it”, you get to pick up the court costs.

Let’s grab Jack Smith’s passport while we’re at it.

GAME OVER

It won't be over until those depriving rights under color of law are prosecuted themselves.

Requesting a dismissal and getting is not the same as a dismissal with prejudice. They are free to bring charges up again if 4 years.

How does he re-file later if he’s been fired?
