Sunday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” incoming Trump border czar Tom Homan said President-elect Donald Trump would not tolerate state and local governments interfering with his planned deportation policy.
Homan told host Mark Levin that one consequence would be withholding federal funds from local governments that refuse to cooperate with the federal government.
“Tom Homan, you’ve got a very, very powerful weapon that the Democrats, when they’re in power, use against Republican administrations, state and local all the time, federal funding,” Levin said. “If you have a governor who says, I’m not going to cooperate, I’m going to block you, well then federal funds should be slashed to that state and I mean hugely so, so the people of that state understand that the governor is the responsible party, that the mayor is the responsible party.”

8 USC 1324
you put a few Governors and Mayors in SuperMax and watch the rest change their tune...
8 USC 1324 also has a Provision for CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE, I suggest trying it out.
A border czar with cojones!
hugely
Was trying to figure out why I liked this guy...
It's because he's like a real-life Mike Ehrmanhaut from "Breaking Bad", who scared the crap out of every living thing.
I love this guy. Could HE be JD’s running mate?
Excellent! And the first state to see him do it...our idiot governor Healey is tripling down now.
Homan to Blue States and Cities:
“FAFO”
I hate to say this but I bet Homan and Trump backdown on mass deportation.
Define mass deportation. If deporting 1.4 million illegals with deportation orders is considered "mass deportation" then they won't back down because they have the law and the courts on their side. Included in the 1.4 million are 400-500k felons. I am not saying the actual head count will be 1.4 million, but a large chunk of that will be a good start. Once arrests and deportation begins, and even beforehand, there will be mass self-deportations.
And let people sue their politicians that encourage illegals in their state, those affected by all the crime
He doesn’t have to - enforcing e-verify , no more welfare or food stamps, they’ll leave
I've been saying that for a lot of years now, but sadly, I don't even think they'll go that far. They may skirt around the edges of that, but defunding the entire welfare operation is what needs to be done and I don't think they'll be able to stand up to the public outcry if they do it. E-verify has always been worked around by those companies that want to employ illegals in order to cut labor costs anyway, so why would we expect them to suddenly now obey the labor laws?
There is a lot of solutions that would work but I don't think the Trump people will ever go far enough to stop the flow and send very many back. We're going to be stuck with millions of these invaders no matter what, just like the democrats intended in the first place.
I wish I was wrong about all of this, but from what I've seen over the past 40 yrs I don't hold out much hope that our govt can recover from it. Mainly because the powers that be, don't want to.
There’s over 20 million recent arrivals with more coming every day so 1.4 million is hardly even a drop in the bucket.
Maybe it will balance the budget? Wouldn’t that be too cool? Two for one.
Why are the States receiving "federal funds" in the first place? Fedzilla should not have that kind of power. The 17th Amendment was a blatant power grab by the Feds ... the States were stupid to ratify it.
Indeed. I would love to see the federal government funded by tariffs from international trade. Beyond that, each state should tax their state residents in whatever way the residents vote to approve. And -- perhaps -- state governments ought forward some of the money they collect to Washington for some expenses at that level. But private citizens should not have to directly send money to Washington DC, and Washington DC should not be "rewarding" states with "federal funds" on the back end.
We have been saying 13 million illegals since the 90’s. The correct count is well over 30 million at this point. We must make their life miserable, an absolute living hell for which they will exist every day until they leave on their own, die, and get deported.
I saw him talk about rescuing little girls from the smugglers. His anger, talking about how those children were sexually abused and robbed of their childhood innocence, was palpable.
