You need to read all my posts. As a Fox News contributor Hegseth’s antics are nobody’s business. I could care less just as I could care less if my accountant is a tom cat.

Now comes the position of the Secretary of Defense, one of the most important cabinet posts. People in positions of high responsibility must be held to a higher standard. We’re talking national security here.

Why did Trump pass over Ric Grenell or Chris Miller for God’s sake? Why are we putting the second string in at kickoff?

In any aspect of politics, lies & accusations come to the forefront. As most of the main media are political apparatchiks, all are made to sound so damning and thus legitimate.

Comservatives being, top to bottom, generally more decent than your rabid liberal, imo, will generally shy away from qualified people just because they don't want to hear the unpleasant, largely untrue and irrelevant accusations.

Your most recent post did put a sharper point on the issue, and it would be relevant and perhaps conclusive if Hegseth had been charged with a violation of the UCMJ based on adultery, but it doesn't appear he was since he was not on active duty.

Good, because that is what the "Kerfuffel" in Vegas may have been about. A female complained about him but the "event hostess" apparently was willing to be alone with him in his room, perhaps to tuck him in. What is relevant is that he was not married at the time.

The fact Hegseth later married the mother of his child can be seen as a very responsible and redeeming factor.

From a national security viewpoint, there doesn't appear to be anything that would expose Hegseth to blackmail.

Rick Grenell remains available, perhaps for a more fitting position. Chris Miller is wrapped up in the three-hour delay in deploying the National Guard on Jan6.

Let's support Trump while he plays out his political hand, not because he is perfect but because we have no choice.
