Russia will keep testing new ballistic missile, Putin says

President Vladimir Putin said Friday that Russia will continue to test and start mass-producing the hypersonic ballistic missile that it fired at Ukraine Thursday.

In a televised meeting with the leadership of Russia’s defense ministry, Putin claimed the missile could not be intercepted by air defenses and said Russia will begin serial production of the new weapon.

“There are currently no means of countering such a missile, no means of intercepting it, in the world. And I will emphasize once again: We will continue testing the latest system,” Putin said.

“Based on the test results, these weapons will also go into production. That is, we are developing a whole line of medium- and shorter-range systems,” he said.

Are not all ballistic missiles hypersonic?

Yes, but not all ballistic missiles have re-entry vehicles that are capable of becoming non-ballistic and thus harder to target.

You can calculate where a ballistic vehicle will be at any point in time but you cannot if it can maneuver.

Okay that makes sense. So the Russians are saying these ballistic missiles are maneuverable?

Regardless it sounds like the US is unprepared for even standard missiles as far as missile defense goes. Not near enough systems to protect even US soil

US has tested weapons in all our wars and conflicts so can’t be mad at that part. Unless what they are testing is specifically nuclear, chemical, biological , or intentionally aimed at civilians.

Keep testing them where your enemies can see them. It’s not like they would take measurements and collect data that will be used to counter them. Nope…that wouldn’t happen.

This is more Kremlin Drama Queen stuff. It’s like none of these fools lived during the Cold War.

BUahahahahahahahahaha!

That's what Goliath said to David.

Turning their production lines and research facilities into slag would screw this pooch.

You can get that the Mossad has the exact location of all of these places in Russia.

Also, flight path and time to target.

The “old” hypersonic missle take a long up then down flight path. They require say 15 minutes to travel 1,000 miles as the crow flies.

This new generation Russian missle needs 5 minutes to travel the same 1,000 miles

Defense, today, is not possible

That was the entire point. The US was notified via the proper defense channel. We were given a heads up of when and even where and we could collect data. However, this is the counter-weapon system to the new US missiles we are deploying into Poland. Trump pulled us out of the treaty and we are/were/might deploy those missiles still. Our missiles are either inceptors or offensive and takes about an hour to change out the payload depending on the mission.

Putin’s address to the world literally encouraged the United States to gather as much data in the coming weeks and months as they want.

I liken this round not to some broad called Hazel, but to Thor’s Hammer.

The US has yet to determine if this was the new system missile or the older missile decomissioned of which about 260 were put into mothballs.

The Warhead (THOR’S HAMMER) made quite the IMPRESSION.

We have seen no more BS about Zelinski’s Let the Missiles Do The Talking and nothing from France, Germany, GB or the US to provoke another strike into Ukraine.

However, it remains questionable if Russia has Lavrov stated has yet responded to each the US and GB for the attacks. This was the message for Ukraine and we still have to calculate possible retaliation promised. Until Lavrov says or Putin says this was the retalitation to the US and GB for their part, the Pentagon will just have to wait and hope they bring Biden under control.

I’ll contribute to a Go Fund Me to send Marcus Maximus to the site of the next ballistic missile test.

A missile like that is not a "ballistic" missile.

I remember MARV being talked about long ago, and the Russians claimed they had them 40+ years ago. I think this is all overhyped.
