Statement by the President of the Russian Federation (explaining the Oreshnik missile system and warning of its future use).
Tass ^ | 11/21/24 | Putin

Posted on 11/22/2024 4:54:09 AM PST by hardspunned

To reiterate, we are conducting combat tests of the Oreshnik missile system in response to NATO’s aggressive actions against Russia. Our decision on further deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles will depend on the actions of the United States and its satellites.

We will determine the targets during further tests of our advanced missile systems based on the threats to the security of the Russian Federation. We consider ourselves entitled to use our weapons against military facilities of those countries that allow to use their weapons against our facilities, and in case of an escalation of aggressive actions, we will respond decisively and in mirror-like manner. I recommend that the ruling elites of the countries that are hatching plans to use their military contingents against Russia seriously consider this.

It goes without saying that when choosing, if necessary and as a retaliatory measure, targets to be hit by systems such as Oreshnik on Ukrainian territory, we will in advance suggest that civilians and citizens of friendly countries residing in those areas leave danger zones. We will do so for humanitarian reasons, openly and publicly, without fear of counter-moves coming from the enemy, who will also be receiving this information.

Maria Zakharova tells us where WWIII will start with further use of NATO missiles in Mother Russia.

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The US missile defense base in Poland has long been considered a priority target for potential neutralization by the Russian Armed Forces, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated during a briefing. "Given the level of threats posed by such Western military facilities, the missile defense base in Poland has long been included among the priority targets for potential neutralization. If necessary, this can be achieved using a wide range of advanced weaponry," the diplomat said. Zakharova stated that the US-NATO construction project, ongoing for nearly a decade with complete disregard to Russian security concerns, has consistently been a focus of Russia's attention. She emphasized that Russia has spent these years preparing countermeasures in response. Zakharova described the establishment of such a base as yet another blatantly provocative move, calling it part of "a series of deeply destabilizing actions by the Americans and their North Atlantic allies in the strategic sphere." "This move aligns with the longstanding and destructive practice of advancing NATO's military infrastructure closer to Russia's borders," the spokeswoman stated. "Such actions undermine strategic stability. Coupled with other harmful military-political and military-technical measures aimed at projecting US power thousands of kilometers from its own territory to exert pressure on Russia and other nuclear powers, this inevitably heightens strategic risks and, consequently, raises the overall level of nuclear danger," Zakharova added.

Pretty sure Joe has no clue what’s happening. So, since quemala is on vaca, who is actually doing the missile and land mine thing? Just me?

Boy you really want to propagandize to eliminate our defensive missile base.

It’s such a threat to Russia because it can shoot down Russian missiles attacking Western countries.

Only a scumbag anti-american POS could possibly promote such arguments.

Russia may miss its opportunity to make peace and Trump may end up giving it the Iran treatment.

Interesting idea. Maybe we should test some of our systems on Kaliningrad.

One has to wonder if he can truly comprehend nuances and potential consequences.
Recall the mental fog he was in the debate with Trump.

NO! This needs to stop. There is a diplomatic solution. Accelerating this conflict with a nuclear power is insane.

It’s almost like Vindman and Neuland are back at controls inside NSC.

It's generally a good thing to know what your geopolitical opponents are saying.

Furthermore, it's hard to speak about a "defensive missile base" when the deployment of these Oreshniks was an explicit escalation in response to America and Britain giving Ukraine the green light to use Western missile systems (like ATACMS and Storm Shadows) to strike Russian territory.

Thanks for the ping! Is there anyone left on FR who is dumb enough to believe that a U.S. military base in Poland is only used for “defensive missiles?”

Sure, Putin could just diplomatically withdraw from the region.

Otherwise, it’s a matter of accepting his incremental annexations.

If someone breaks in my house to steal my silverware, I don’t accept the diplomatic solution of “just take the spoons”, I shoot them if they refuse to leave.

No.

Putin needs to get Kursk territory back in less than 59 days, as Trump will ask for and get an armistice.

“to strike Russian territory”

It’s their use to impede the recovery of the Kursk territory of Russia that makes their use a big issue.
