The rise of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from fringe figure to the prospective head of U.S. health policy was fueled by skepticism and distrust of the medical establishment—views that went viral in the Covid-19 pandemic.
People once dismissed for their disbelief in conventional medicine are now celebrating a new champion in Washington. Scientists, meanwhile, are trying to figure how they could have managed the pandemic without setting off a populist movement they say threatens longstanding public-health measures.
Lingering resentment over pandemic restrictions helped Kennedy and his “Make America Healthy Again” campaign draw people from the left and the right, voters who worried about the contamination of food, water and medicine. Many of them shared doubts about vaccines and felt their concerns were ignored by experts or regarded as ignorant.
Kennedy merged a crowd of Covid-era skeptics with people who long distrusted mainstream medicine and food conglomerates. Together, they helped return Donald Trump to the White House. With the president-elect’s selection of Kennedy to head the Department of Health and Human Services, the medical establishment is bracing for an overhaul of U.S. health policy.
Health authorities who beat the pandemic worry about losing more trust from the people they worked to save. Doctors, scientists and public-health officials are asking themselves how they can win it back. Among their postelection revelations: Don’t underestimate or talk down to those without a medical degree.
Here's Why Vaccine Hesitancy Is A Growing Problem Officials fear that Kennedy will promote unproven remedies, appoint vaccine skeptics to immunization-advisory committees and hamper the government’s infectious-disease detectives in a future pandemic.

Here’s my Letter to the Editor:
“Scientists” Admit Lying
In “How Science Lost America’s Trust”, (WSJ, Thursday, November 21, Page A1), scientists admit lying to Americans that the Covid -19 vaccine was “safe and effective.” Carefully read the following paragraph:
“At first, officials said vaccines would prevent transmission or infection. Later, they learned that the shots instead cut the risk for hospitalization or death.”
This means they did not know in advance whether the vaccine would effectively prevent infection. But they lied and told you it was effective.
They also did not know in advance what the subsequent effects were going to be. Happily, for them and us, they accidentally later learned the “the shots cut the risk of hospitalization or death”. They had no idea what the long-term effects would be, because there was no long-term testing as usually required for a new vaccine. For example, they had no idea that death by myocarditis was a possible effect. But they lied and told you it was safe.
Indeed, they still have no idea what the long-term effects are going to be on the billions of people vaccinated. Y’all are just guinea pigs to the scientists.
Scientists did not know the vaccine was ineffective or whether it was safe in the long term. Yet they lied and chanted “safe and effective.” Now they wonder why “Science is losing its place as source of truth.”
Thanks,
Easy, they lied repeatedly and push a transparent political agenda.
I remain livid at the lies they told and destruction they caused.
They knew it, and lied. Trillions of dollars in damages should be sued out of those MFers.
Original source is the Wall Street Journal, today page A1.
kennedy
the most recognized and world known american family
fringe ?
bwa hahaha
urinalists, spit.
They lied and treated and treated a crisis as a cash and power grab.
Many weeks to go before Trump is in office. Sure they’re planning an other plague if not WW3 to stop him.
Shouldn’t all science be driven by skeptics?
This is obviously an attempt to prop up their lying manipulations.
Exactly!
It’s also good to be skeptical of skeptical particularly the public politician kind.
I subscribed to Scientific American for most of my life. But about 30 years ago, I noticed it taking a sharp turn to the Left. I canceled my subscription but remained baffled as to why a scientific magazine would let itself be influenced by something as contrary to objective scientific investigation as politics.
A pox on all those scientists as well as all those doctors who remained silent.
In other words, people saw the incompetence, and knew they were being fed BS at the threat of a legal muzzle aimed at their heads.
“Among their postelection revelations: Don’t underestimate or talk down to those without a medical degree.”
In other words, bedside manner???? Gee, what a revelation.
children are getting WAAAY too many unneccesary vaccines
Today we have an elite media who actually think that’s a bad thing.
Let that sink in.
My nephew’s wife has been a big advocate of vaccinations and my brother, her father in law, says he has to get vaccinated again for Covid before they go visit their new grandson. He’s 84. So far I’m guessing he’s had a half dozen vax. I worry about him.
“remained baffled as to why a scientific magazine would let itself be influenced by something as contrary to objective scientific investigation as politics”
Because money and power are bigger motivators for most people than things like “objective pursuit of the truth”.
It was lost a century or more ago when fake American John Rockefeller took control of it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath
The oath has been modified numerous times.
One of the most significant revisions was first drafted in 1948 by the World Medical Association (WMA), called the Declaration of Geneva. “During the post World War II and immediately after its foundation, the WMA showed concern over the state of medical ethics in general and over the world. The WMA took up the responsibility for setting ethical guidelines for the world’s physicians. It noted that in those years the custom of medical schools to administer an oath to its doctors upon graduation or receiving a license to practice medicine had fallen into disuse or become a mere formality”.[27] In Nazi Germany, medical students did not take the Hippocratic Oath, although they knew the ethic of “nil nocere”—do no harm.[28][failed verification]
......
In the 1960s, the Hippocratic Oath was changed to require “utmost respect for human life from its beginning”, making it a more secular obligation, not to be taken in the presence of any gods, but before only other people. When the oath was rewritten in 1964 by Louis Lasagna, Academic Dean of the School of Medicine at Tufts University, the prayer was omitted, and that version has been widely accepted and is still in use today by many US medical schools:[29]
.......
As of 2018, all US medical school graduates made some form of public oath but none used the original Hippocratic Oath. A modified form or an oath unique to that school is often used. A review of 18 of these oaths was criticized for their wide variability: “Consistency would help society see that physicians are members of a profession that’s committed to a shared set of essential ethical values.”[39]
