Senate Republicans aired frustrations Tuesday after Vice President-elect Vance and other party members skipped votes Monday, greasing the skids for Democratic-backed judicial nominees to be greenlighted as part of a final push to fill the bench with lifetime appointees before President-elect Trump takes office.
Republicans on Monday attempted to slow down an effort by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to advance more than a dozen judicial nominees, which Democrats have prioritized before ceding power at year’s end.
However, they were unable to stop them as a handful of their GOP colleagues did not show up to the Capitol for votes, which stretched until close to midnight.
Headlining that group were Vance and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), President-elect Trump’s choice to lead the State Department, angering GOP members during their weekly Tuesday policy luncheon.
“If we don’t show up, we lose,” said Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), who was visibly frustrated by the lack of attendance and spoke out at lunch. “I don’t care what the reasons were. We have fewer than 15 scheduled legislative days. You have to show up. Period. End of story. There’s nothing more important.”
“We’ve got potentially dozens we could have shoved down our throat — except for us being here,” he continued, pointing specifically to a 4th Circuit nominee that could make it through if Republican absences continue. “We’ve got to talk to these folks like adults and show up.”
The group of nominees includes Embry Kidd, who was confirmed to serve on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 49 to 45 vote, despite Sen. Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) voting against his nomination.

Why wouldn’t Trump tell them show up or face consequences. Unlike Vance, he could tell Rubio he will be dropped. But shame on Vance.

I don't need to see the mugs of the self-serving Vance and Rubio schmoozing with Musk (primarily) and Trump on television.
I DO need to see them in the arena, twisting arms, doing their job. TRYING to block Communist judges.
They screwed up a lot by not making these votes, after the American people endured a long election cycle to accomplish this takeover.
So, which of Schumer’s picks were supposedly passed while Vance and Rubio were gone?

Wwould like to see what was so important about the luncheon and whatever else they were doing that they couldn’t be present for that vote.
Get used to this. This is how they are going to “help” Trump during his term.
Sounds like Vance made a dumb mistake and assumed the vote was a lost cause.
Never assume that you are going to lose a vote and not show up, you never know if your opposition is going to have a heart attack- or do something stupid like not show up- that could work to your advantage IF you are there.
Then again, we don’t know what needed to get done with regard to the FBI director slot because that nomination and the AG is going to have to be choreographed through extreme opposition in a very short timeslot, too.

Vance is a big goy. He knew where to be.
Rubio doesn’t shock me.

And I hope those Rs being pulled out of the house are the sure things for new R seats that everybody says.
Our seat on Staten Island was won this year 65 to 35 by an R, as usual.
EXCEPT for four years ago when Max Rose won. Everyone else was gonna vote so it was no biggie.
Until it was.
If all Republicans had shown up and Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) absence held, the GOP would have defeated the nomination temporarily.

When Vance and Marco are absent, they can post a fake no, then posture.
If Vance and Marco were in session, they would be wating their time. The RINO’s would vote yes, confirming the corrupt Judge’s
The Repubs have tools to slow down the process and delay votes
If Vance skipped a vote he ought to learn never to do that again.
