Republican Eric Hovde concedes in Wisconsin Senate race
The Hill ^ | 11/13/2024 | Joanne Haner -

Republican Senate candidate Eric Hovde announced that he is conceding in the Wisconsin Senate race after previously questioning the results.

Decision Desk HQ/The Hill declared incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) the race’s winner more than a week ago, with Baldwin taking 49.4 percent of the vote to Hovde’s 48.5 percent and over 28,000 votes separating them.

“The results from election night were disappointing, particularly in light of the last-minute absentee ballots that were dropped in Milwaukee at 4 a.m. flipping the outcome,” Hovde said in a six-minute video on X posted Monday.

“I have heard from numerous supporters urging me to challenge the election results. However, without a detailed review of all the ballots and their legitimacy, which will be difficult to obtain in the courts, a request for a recount would serve no purpose, because you will just be recounting the same ballots, regardless of their integrity,” he added. “As a result, and my desire to not add to political strife through a contentious recount, I’ve decided to concede the election.”

The truth and the crux of the matter.

” a request for a recount would serve no purpose, because you will just be recounting the same ballots, regardless of their integrity,”

On this point he is correct. He was getting 0 help from the GOPe. Like MI it was the usual 3am urban ballot dump that killed him. Until this BS is stopped it will keep happening.

Consulting work and paid news appearances are the rewards for losing gracefully. The cost of fighting, as the founding fathers knew, is your life, your fortune, and your sacred honor. Hence Republicans have developed graceful losing into an art form.

Trump’s DOJ needs to investigate this for fraud.

With the MI and WI Senate seats the Republicans would be 55-45. The Rats are hated by the people outside the urban centers.

We all know Wisconsin politics are some of the most unethical in US history, and after what happened in 2020 it was even more apparent. My question is; if anyone suspected another mail drop like 2020 could take place, why wasn’t anyone from the GOP on the watch for it, and once it was detected, why wasn’t it immediately contested?

Should have dragged it through the courts to delay seating the obstructionist in training.

Actually I think he is a smart loser.

Everyone knows he was robbed and there is very little he can do about it.

The primary reason Kari Lake lost her bid for the Senate (aside from the fact that she was outspent 10 to 1)was the feeling she with independents and even some Republicans that she was a divisive sore loser.

Hovde got robbed and there is nothing he can do about it - best to take the 1960 Nixon statesman like high road approach and come back tanned, rested and ready to run next time around to win I’m 100% certain Kari Lake would have won if she had followed this approach

she was a divisive sore loser.

I don't live in AZ and I don't know a whole lot about her. My opinion of her is based solely on what I watched happen with her campaign on election nite 2020 and over the coming days. Time and again, I heard her campaign come out saying they had XX,000 more votes to count, and those votes should skew towards her. Read like 4 or 5 updates on this throughout the week or two following the election. And every time, they skewed the other way. Vote/election fraud? Probably, but it made her come off really bad to the general public who do not live in the state or no a lot about her. Just my opinion.
