Is This the End of the White Working-Class Democrat? Democrats hoped to lose by less in blue-collar areas that had drifted toward Donald Trump. In many places, they may have lost by more.

In Ohio, Senator Sherrod Brown, a longtime champion of working-class voters, was toppled by a rich Republican former car dealer.

In Washington, President Biden must now hand back power to Republicans and surrender leadership of a party increasingly dominated by highly educated voters.

And in Pennsylvania, Senator Bob Casey, whose family name has for years been synonymous with white working-class Democrats, is confronting the real possibility of defeat.

Eight years after fury among white working-class voters propelled Donald J. Trump to victory, Democrats swore that this time, they would try to do better with that group.

Instead, the party’s staggering challenges with blue-collar voters have only worsened. Widespread frustration with high prices and alienation from Democrats have turned the party’s lawmakers in Trump territory into an ever-more-endangered species.

“When the change doesn’t show up, the hope for change turns into anger,” said Representative Matt Cartwright, a battle-tested Pennsylvania Democrat from the Scranton area who narrowly lost this month. “The anger showed up.”

The new inroads Mr. Trump made this year with working-class voters of color, particularly Latino ones, have alarmed Democrats. At the same time, the party’s Trump-era Achilles’ heel — its struggle to earn the trust of white working-class voters — was even starker this year, especially in the Industrial Midwest, where the “blue wall” states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin all broke for Mr. Trump.

...she and other Democrats also faced a deepening, newly worrisome perception problem: a widespread belief among working-class Americans that the Democratic Party does not fully grasp their struggles — and in some cases, disdains them outright.

...But one of the biggest problems, these Democrats say, is that voters in white working-class neighborhoods now see the party as unresponsive to their most pressing daily troubles.

“‘Pro-labor, pro-life, pro gun’ — that was a big part of the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania,” said Mr. Dent, who supported Ms. Harris this year. “It seems that that population has migrated solidly into the Republican camp.”

Smug lefties say its because working-class whites are less educated.

It’s because they’ve been screwing the working class, and we’re not going to take it.

“Casey,confronting the possibility of defeat”

He was defeated. He just won’t concede and is openly trying to steal back what he lost.

Democrats are so freaking stupid. It was famously reported that in 2012 the Obama campaign had admitted with it’s “new coalition” they no longer needed white working class voters. That admission had the left nearly orgasmic. Fast forward to 2024, and we see that the Obama cabal may have miscalculated.

“ widespread belief among working-class Americans that the Democratic Party does not fully grasp their struggles — and in some cases, disdains them outright.

It is literally a “critical” plank of the party that whites need to atone and suffer so that the minorities can get their due. It’s not racist to note that the Democrat Party is openly hostile to whites. I am actually surprised it has taken white democrats so long to figure this out and act accordingly. How do you vote for a party that tells you they want you and your children and their children to all have less and pay more for it? It is literally insane.

Scott Presler is moving from PA to New Jersey to help organize Republicans there. Trump only lost NJ by about 5.5 points, a lot closer than many realize. Presler thinks Republicans will start seeing results by the 2026 mid-terms. I’m not going to bet against him.

Kamala Harris was the ultimate slap in the face to average Americans.

She was clearly a puppet, elected by nobody, a marketing ploy directed at woke urban elites, with no ideology or moral fiber of her own, only spouting the stupid leftist gender, trans and race slogans.

“ Smug lefties say it’s because working-class whites are less educated.”

Working class families care more about paying their bills and trying to secure a future for their kids, than they do about “virtue signaling”.

Yep. The Democrats and their media lapdogs shamelessly lie. Finally working class folks are catching on.

Democrats: The Biden economy is doing great!
Average voter: Then why are my groceries so expensive now?

Democrats: Undocumented immigrants are assets to the country!
Average voter: Not according to my local police reports.

Etc.

“ Scott Presler is moving from PA to New Jersey to help organize Republicans there. Trump only lost NJ by about 5.5 points”

I think a lot of Republicans don’t bother to vote in states which are supposedly “Democrat” states. By motivating more Republicans to show up, I think Scott has a good chance of delivering.

Agreed. And not only is real life more about important things instead of virtue signally, part of the Dims' problems is that they pick the wrong causes as their "virtues".

The Democrat party is doing what the GOP did to its base.

The GOP passed a bill to close the border when Bush was president but didnt fund it. Even though the GOP had the House and Senate. Then they gave all that money to the banks. And that is what brought out the TEA party.

Then the GOP leadership down talked the TEA party and called them the fringe. In essence they went against their core principles. I remember many people saying they would rather loose a election to the left if they could get a RINO voted out.

This is how Trump won the first time.

The Democrats said they didn’t need the white working class to win and thru them under the bus. Then they locked everyone down. Pretty much screwing many working people over.

Then they stole the election. After that they imported millions of new voters. Stealing jobs from the poor working class. And at the same time deflating the wages of the poor who still had jobs not stolen from them by illegals.

Both parties have thrown their base under the bus. I dont know what will happen but people have woken up to the fact that the established ruling class is not working for the people anymore. And that it is now the people against the government. Be that politicians and the overpaid under worked government employees.

I’d rather see Presler go after California. If the GOP gets their act together there, they can at least turn it Purple.

The Left drove the Democrats as recruits in its culture wars against Americans, and the Democrats old base rejects the Marxist/Dim culture wars and rejects their warriors trying to get elected selling that crap.
