Last year, 2023, both Chicago and L.A. had mayoral races... in which standard-issue, left-leaning, black machine politician faced off against a centrist white person running on a reformist, tough-on-crime agenda. And in both cities, voters rejected reform, essentially saying, “No thanks. More of the same please.” It was certainly hard for me to wrap my head around that that at time, thinking, “Who looks around Chicago or L.A. and is happy with the status quo and votes for it again?”
What a difference a year makes. This time is was San Francisco with standard-issue, left-leaning, black machine politician facing off against a centrist white person running on a reformist, tough-on-crime agenda. And guess what? Opposite out this time. And leftist D.A. George Gascon was booted from L.A. for good measure. The tide has turned.

It’s true that there are enough brain-dead voters in Chicago to put a bozo like Johnson in office, but fundamentally he’s there because he’s a stooge for the Chicago Teachers Union: the CTU, not content in destroying the city’s public school system (which hasn’t been worth anything for half a century as it is) has now decided it’s just fine to take down the entire city in order to get exorbitant wages and cushy pensions.
