A report by CNN chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid indicates journalists were spotted consoling each other in the hallways after learning that President-elect Donald Trump had nominated Matt Gaetz as his Attorney General.
Reid provided the insight during a segment on "The Situation Room" With Wolf Blitzer.
Blitzer inquired as to the panel's thoughts on what the nomination would mean for the Justice Department. Reid chimed in and pointed out that Gaetz's pick is controversial due to his ongoing investigations.
"But just because you‘ve been investigated, right, Hillary Clinton has also been criminally investigated, but not charged, it doesn‘t mean you can‘t be attorney general," she explained.
Then she pulled back the curtain on how some in the journalism profession dealt with the news.
"But he‘s not going to receive a very warm welcome from the career folks there (the DOJ)," Reid added.

I think that is the point.
Yes.
Last thing a Republican AG needs is “ a very warm welcome from the career folks there (the DOJ “.
What a bunch of feebs.
That’s a shame.
Yeah...you would think a journo might be carrying a camera of some kind...
Because the perfumed, faux reporters involved didn’t, wouldn’t, couldn’t capture and report a real story if they tripped over one.
Why?
Hahahahahahaha!
This is whats been feeding America for the past decade, the emotionally mentally ill
They’ve all committed felony crimes to make up stories and they know that he knows.
Gaetz can be acting AG for up to 2 years via recess appointment. After that, may I suggest Mike Davis? That dynamic duo would rip every single last corrupt Leftist scumbag out of the DOJ/FIB. It would be beautiful to behold.
I’ve been watching this trope evolve over the last few days, and I think some folks may be selling short at least a portion of the DOJ staff.
There are likely a good number of people at the DOJ who agree with DJT and his appointments. There are, no doubt, some who breathed a sigh of relief to see that a real fighter is coming on board.
It will still be tough sailing, certainly. But, those pockets of sanity are feeling better about their jobs and the country, now.
Please do not confuse journalists with reporters. Journalists always claim to be reporters but a real reporter will never claim to be a journalist.
and they wonder why a female cant be elected President..
Wait until they get to the first Press Conference after 1/20/24, and they find out that their new seat assignments are at the back of the bus. Front rows will be reporters from War Room, Charlie Kirk, Joe Rogan, Dan Bongino, Newsmax, etc. Then we’ll see real crying.
I’ve heard there’s talk about closing the Press Office at the White House — moving it off site. That would be great.
“There are likely a good number of people at the DOJ who agree with DJT and his appointments.”
I wish I could believe that, but I don’t. It’s like Hannity saying for years that there are honorable people at the FBI.
