Former Virgin Galactic CEO George Whitesides is headed to Capitol Hill.
Whitesides, who also has "NASA chief of staff" on his resume, won his U.S. House of Representatives race to represent California's 27th district, which covers a big chunk of land north of Los Angeles.
"It's the honor of a lifetime to be elected to serve our district in Congress and deliver for Santa Clarita, the Antelope Valley and the San Fernando Valley," Whitesides wrote in a statement on X Monday night (Nov. 11). "In Congress, you can count on me to fight to create more good local jobs, lower everyday costs, build safe communities, protect Social Security and Medicare and protect reproductive freedom," he added.
Whitesides, a Democrat, beat Republican incumbent Mike Garcia in a close race, capturing about 51% of the vote. Garcia conceded on Monday (Nov. 11), according to LAist.com.
Last week's election brought other aerospace players into the political action as well — chief among them SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk, who campaigned hard for President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump announced yesterday (Nov. 12) that Musk will co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency, a new organization that aims to "dismantle government bureaucracy" and "slash excess regulations."

He’s my new congressman. This area had been red for decades.
Garcia is a great Patriot veteran and family man. Whitesides and the Eens bought the seat.
They spent a ton of money to flip this seat. Whitesides has loads of bread. I couldn’t watch a single YouTube video without seeing whitesides ads. And frankly Garcia wasn’t running a positive message which he had used to win the first time.
Had to read four paragraphs to find out he is a Democrat who barely beat an incumbent Republican.
Until proven otherwise...

In fact now I remember, some canvasser came to my block to promote Whitesides. She had some kind of list of houses to go to. She didn’t come to my house but to my neighbor, we were watching a game having some adult beverages. We offered her pizza and beer but she declined.

True, with minor exceptions. Like when Katie Hill (D) defeated incumbent Steve Knight in the anti-Trump landslide of 2018.
Then she turned out to be a dirty whore who claimed to be outraged when nude photos of her (don’t bother to look, she’s not worth it) wound up online.
Being a whore doesn’t set her apart from a typical Democrat, but the nude photos were a but much to take and even other Rats didn’t rush to her aid. Without the usual “so what, who cares?” type of support that immoral or criminal Democrats routinely expect and get, Hill resigned from Congress and Garcia won 3 times (twice in 2020), barely, before his defeat this year.
Did Whitesides campaign as a phony “moderate” or was he unashamed to admit that he’s a liberal? If the former, his fraud should be well exposed before he runs again in ‘26.

He ran as a former NASA executive turned businessman who created 100’s of jobs in the area. Garcia tried to paint him as a Gascon donor. The PACs went hard against Garcia on abortion.

Yep, Michele Steele, incumbent R in Orange County going down as well. ALWAYS a week after the polls close and they keeeeepppp counting.

It’s already won but the margin is two. The Republican in Alaska isn’t going to get 50%, and up less than 10k votes to the Commiecrat so it reverts to rank choice. So its a cluster cluck where the Republican may lose. Trump needs to slow his roll on appointing Repub Congresscriters to his Administration. There is no room for error on special elections to replace them.

I live in this district and will never believe it went for a Democrat.
I believe the election was stolen.
Trump needs to tighten up vote integrity nation wide - seen this happen many times in California where the Republican won - but enough votes are found, sometimes weeks later - 90% of them for the Democrat giving him/her the win in a “squeaker.”
