Company behind Seltzer poll launches probe into potential leak after results posted on X prior to publishing

The company behind the Des Moines Register, which published Ann Selzer’s poorly-aged Iowa poll, has launched an investigation after the poll's findings were allegedly leaked on X prior to publishing, according to a new report.

Seltzer's pre-election poll, which set off a multi-day media firestorm, inaccurately showed Vice President Kamala Harris leading in Iowa. The poll was published by the Des Moines Register on the evening of November 2. But an unknown social media user, who assumes the handle "IllinoisLib," posted the results on X roughly an hour before it went live, according to a report from Semafor.

"Selzer is about to drop Kamala +3 Source: Major campaign surrogate. Not joking. Mark my words," the post reads.

In a follow-up post, the author wrote that Democratic Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois revealed the poll's findings during a Duke Democrats meeting earlier in the day. Pritzker's office did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

"No I was deada--," the author wrote. "JB Pritzker just fully mentioned it at a Duke Democrats meeting and was like 'Oh wait that's not being released till later today oops" and my jaw fell to the floor.'"

Don't recall seeing this, and couldn't find it on search, including using an external search.

So, the plot thickens on that extremely suspect Des Moines Register / Seltzer poll that showed Harris +3 (only 16% off!) right before the election.

Long story short, in addition to Seltzer and the Register refusing to disclose the poll's internal data and splits, it turns out that prominent Democrats knew about it before it was released.

There are other articles claiming that supposedly the poll isn't disclosed to anyone prior to release.

...And yet this poll that looks like an attempt to manipulate turnout was known, and blabbed about, by the Dems ahead of time. Hmmm...

(I still think it was cover for a steal attempt or trying to influence turnout not on the Presidential election, but Iowa House District #1- Miller-Meeks (R) only ended up eking it out by 0.2%...)

It was intended to influence overseas wagering markets, driving Trump bets cheaper for a bit. Worth it for big enough players.

The Selzter poll allowed a LOT of people to get a lower price on Polymarket and PredictIt to bet on a Trump win.

Shouldn’t the FBI be swatting her home at 4am?

“Company behind Seltzer poll launches probe into potential leak after results posted on X prior to publishing”

yep, if only the poll results hadn’t been leaked one hour before being officially published, the results would have been accurate ...

That is a good point. Might be why Polymarket was swatted
