It would be nice to have some context, such as when this happened, and what it was about.

Search you tube. I saw it there yesterday.

In the X video, the latter half shows some doddering old oriental dude backtalking the roid boy.

"Yeah, I'm gonna call an ambulance"

After you scrubbed the pavement with the old dude's face...

‘The Civil Rights Lawyer’ on YouTube has an excellent breakdown on this.

https://youtu.be/5zPt8r0uM2I?si=DNTjmiHDSAZJdc1D

Bottom line: The cop stopped an older Vietnamese man for a traffic infraction. There was a language barrier. The old man got agitated, and touched (not hit) the cop.

The cop then slammed the old man violently to the ground.

Should the old man have been arrested for touching the cop? Probably, as that was technically an assault. But the cop was certainly in no danger. His response was a wild overreaction, a disproportionate use of force.

So the old man told the cop to shut up?

Cops aren’t Gods. Kick that maniac cop off the force, immediately. He does not have the temperament to be a police officer. /spit

Roided up cop? Just a jerk? Whatever.

What he poked you in the chest ya little wimp###?

The taxpayers will pay for the lawsuit.

IMHO this cop should not just be fired but also criminally charged. No excuse for an “officer” that large to take down a frail tiny old man that way.

These kinds of cops give the good ones a bad name IMHO.

For some unknown reason the officer decided to us deadly force on the old guy....and for someone that old, that was deadly force.!

Saw the entire video on X. Did not appear old man touched the cop but he did poke his finger at the cop and said something like “no you shut up.” Take down was excessive more appropriate for arresting someone actually resisting arrest. In other words it appears the cop went too far in my opinion. Old man is lucky to be alive. Cops are supposed to be professionals not thugs.

old guy hit some lady who was making a u turn

cop ticked lady, then went to ticket old man, who said I did nothing wrong.

Officer wrote him a ticket anyway and guy refused to sign it.

Officer told him he was going to jail and called for backup

guy eventually got out of car and told the officer he was wrong, and then to shut up and supposedly poked him (not hard) and the officer took him down breaking I think his collar bone and giving him a brain blead while wife and daughter wanted him to call ambulance which he eventually did.

Police initially said it was totally justified cause the old guy attacked the officer.

then they walked that back after public outcry

Last year this shit cost the city of Phoenix over 12 million in law suits.

And I understand that so far this year Mesa, about 6 million.

Every single cop in the force needs to go through mental evaluation now.

The feds got involved in the Phoenix and came down extremely hard on them.
Mesa is about to get the same treatment.

> Officer wrote him a ticket anyway and guy refused to sign it. <

I watched the whole video a couple of times on YouTube. I don’t think the old guy (a Vietnamese) knew what the cop was talking about. The language barrier was that great.

And for that reason I’ll assign the old man maybe 10% of the blame. If you’re going to get behind the wheel of a car, you should have the ability to converse intelligently with law enforcement.

The other 90% of the blame goes to the cop, for his disgusting and violent overreaction.

He is an old man from Vietnam. He wouldn’t sign the ticket because he thought he was admitting guilt. He has broken English. Cop has Vietnamese translators available as PKC has a large Vietnamese population. All he had to do was ask for a translator and everyone would be fine. The old man said he would rather go to jail rather than sign the ticket.

This one is pretty plain. Whatever happened before the video starts is irrelevant. The man was thrown down for mouthing off.
The cuffing could have been done with the fellow standing. The cop just got pissed. That officer should not be dealing with the public.

There is a saying amongst conservative and libertarians about Calgary Police Service, Tranna Police Service, Montreal police, and the RCMP, and a whole bunch of other police forces. It goes,”It is the 2% of cops that are good, that ruin the reputation of the other 98%.”

I used to be a big supporter of cops, but in the last 10 years, especially since the CCP-Coronavirus CONdemic, that most of the old-time, honest, honourable cops have retired, leaving only the boot-licker, ‘STASI’-type, authoritarian cops, who follow governmentdiktats, rather than the law.

Sounds like this cop fits in the 98%. Hopefully, he’s charged with assault and excessive use of force. The old guy should possibly have been charged with minor assault, but certainly not slammed to the ground by Officer Barny Roidrage.
