A federal judge in the Southern District of Illinois issued a permanent injunction Friday enjoining the state from enforcing the “assault weapons” ban contained in the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA).
The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) was among the plaintiffs in the case. SAF founder Alan Gottlieb responded to the decision, calling Friday “a great day for gun rights.”
The judge’s order allows 30 days before the injunction goes into force, giving the state that period of time in which to file an appeal.

Time to take suppressors and SBRs off the NFA immediately. Bet it happens quickly in 2025. Stick THAT in your rectum, ATF.

Repeal the NFA entirely.

NO! Time to have the unconstitutional NFA Act declared as such by the US Supreme Court! The ENTIRE law!

The world seems so much brighter than it was just 4 days ago.
Which means the injunction isn't in effect yet and you still can't buy AR's or large capacity magazines.

So, it’s a permanent injunction, but it will be appealed in less than a month. Doesn’t sound very permanent to me.

Yes, indeed. You have to ask by what legal thaumaturgy the government could claim it would use its power to tax, to deliberately ignore a clearly delineated prohibition against all the acts they committed under the NFA. The second amendment isn’t complex to read and understand, at all. Unless one is a commie.
