The stock market has surged to record highs since Kamala Harris entered the presidential race in July. Will the good vibes continue if she wins the White House?
Fortune surveyed analysts and academics about what stocks could rally on a Harris victory, as well as what companies might see their shares drop. Here are some companies to keep in mind:
Harris and former President Donald Trump differ starkly when it comes to climate and energy policy. As vice president, Harris cast the tie-breaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act. Joe Biden’s signature climate law passed without any Republican support, and Trump has pledged to dismantle the system of tax credits and subsides that he's dubbed a “green new scam.”
Whether Trump would be able to follow through on those campaign promises is unclear, but a Harris victory is likely much better news for renewables. Shares of First Solar, America’s largest builder of solar panels, have dropped 16% this month amid a backdrop of industry volatility and election uncertainty. A Harris victory could reward investors who have bought the dip.
A Harris administration could also help electric vehicle manufacturers looking to gain ground on Elon Musk’s Tesla, particularly as the EV giant’s CEO has put his full support behind Donald Trump. Musk’s political activism, including his public spats with California officials, has already presented an opportunity to companies like Rivian to pick off disgruntled progressive customers.
Offshore wind figures to benefit from a Harris win as well. Spanish energy giant Iberdrola has invested over $13 billion into the U.S. and UK over the past 12 months, fueling a 150% surge in profits for the first nine months of the year. Its American subsidiary, Avangrid, is available for a modest price-to-earnings ratio just north of 12, according to S&P Global.

5 stocks to buy if Trump wins—and 5 to sell
I bought some FSLR - a Harris win stock.
Buy everything if/when Trump wins - the boot will be off the neck of the American economy and it will be a new golden age.
DJT and Bitcoin.
If Kommie wins buy Smith & Wesson.
The Party will steer tax dollars to the companies owned by the global oligarchs who make up the Inner Party.
As one wag said yesterday, if Pres. Trump wins, buy plywood and glass makers today, since the rioting starts tonight.
So, you’re betting on a Harris win.
Did you recently suffer a head injury?
Stocks are already overpriced. We are in an irrational bubble. Might as well short-sell.
And whatever corporation owns the most liquor brands.
Cause i’ll make them rich all by myself if harris wins.
If the deep state is allowed to install Harris, then you may as well sell ALL stock. Harris has already declared she will go after the 401k accounts if she is president.
The only thing to purchase in this scenario is survival food and an underground bunker because WW3 begins the day after Harris is declared POTUS.
Cut to the quick...
Any company requiring massive government subsidies from here to Kingdom Come will see its stock rise. In short, EVs, solar and wind (possibly with the exception of Tesla because of Musk).
Not the stock, but what they make.
There was a time when stocks weren’t the only place to invest your time and money.
The most important investment may be people and family. If times get tough, you may need them.
There is learned skill in investing in people. start small. Lend them $100 and see what happens.

I have it all in DJT and a little Bitcoin. I don’t plan on selling anything regardless.
“There is learned skill in investing in people. start small. Lend them $100 and see what happens.”
